I wanted to base a sound card with ASIO drivers for m 'avoid 100 ms of latency when I played live from my laptop, and also to record the Manir a little cleaner than with a intgre sound card input / output mini jack. I use it on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A10, Celeron 2GHz, 512 MB DDR PC2100, ide hard drive 5400 rpm) for live and on my desktop PC (AthlonXP 3200 +, 1GB DDR PC3200, ide hard Disuqi 7200 rpm) for recording / mixing. It works flawlessly on both.
Connects to the desktop, its output is one of the links between gnralement Strod a table Behringer UB1202. I have plugged my MIDI keyboard to the MIDI card, and I record it with enough rguliremnet instruments.
UTILIZATION
The implementation of ASIO drivers with silent enough bordlique THE FIRST version of the drivers (supplied Surla CD), but version 2 drivers, available on the website of Edirol, rsout the problem.
I have taken the time (for once) to read the manual. We see that possde Edirol in it especially fans of his plutt than computers, but the pilots' s install without much problem by following the instructions.
GETTING STARTED
I 've never had any problem with the drivers of the card, except may be to uninstall (I' d squat another PC, and drivers are always on, for want of being able to remove ...). I didn 't bother, since the vetrsion 2 pilots, to go see if a silent version available.
On Plogue Thing, I have 4 ms latency and 13 ms output in between. It is more than enough to play with a MIDI keyboard, even more than the latency of the MIDI port is not standard either.
In CANCEIS mixing, I have no problem reading dj 24 simultanment tracks, but that is the processor and not the sound card that s' takes you to mix tracks in real time . It is therefore dpendant the power of it.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it recently prs a year now. I needed a good sound card too small CHRE, and that it has fully achieved its rle. However, with means a little more important now I think I Rasht MODEL plutt the AU 25, also having XLR inputs, and better frquence of chantillonage.
