I actually traded a Fender American Strat for the GP and had some cash left over - got a gothic Squire strat (H/H) at a local Guitar Center.

I know that most people would look at me and say, "That guy's nuts!!!" for trading an american strat for this, but believe me, it was WELL WORTH IT!! This unit is so easy to install and use. Basically the instructions tell you precisely what to do when and you are all set. Plug in yer guitar and wail!
The controls are very simple to use. And for someone who has never had much money to spend on music gear - this thing (like all Line 6 products) is a god send! I have never heard what a Mesa sounds like, except on the car stereo. My gear is that Squire strat and Kramer Baretta through some effects to a Fender Deville 2x12.

There is nothing I don't like about this unit, besides one thing: Line 6 should offer this baby with more boutique items such as Soldano, other Mesa's besides the dual rectifier, Bogner, newer and older Fender amps, Randall, Hughes and Kettner, Laney and on and on - basically a smorgasbord of all the great amps that the majority of guitarists like me will never know or have the pleasure of playing.
On the same note, I know that Line 6 offers the Pod 2 and Pod XT that plugs in by USB (so I guess that will have to be my next purchase).

The contruction is solid and seems very well built, but I would be very afraid to drop it. Nothing is unbreakable.

I think the Guitar Port is a kick ass practise/Jam the F##K Out tool. I do not recommend it for gigging, but I would for recording.

Line 6 has got a great thing going! Keep up the good work!
