I was looking for a USB sound interface (FireWire will be abandoned and I do not want to invest every 3 years) with pramps Intgr good qualities, and plenty of outputs, to use Cubase. The purpose of recording as a whole group but also to the ramping for guitars. I was not looking interface "lgre" or the USB alliment. I have an M-Audio dj JamLab (trs trs limited but enough to cost the headset on USB).
I longtempshsit avecun M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R or, and then one day I saw the UX8 Used 350E, and above all I could compare with the M-Audio . The finish did not see anything. Line6 has done well in the heavy sound with connectors fixs well (there's nothing that moves at home!), Not plastic. It is mtal ... Brief will see in stores.

UTILIZATION

No worries drivers. As against it takes two hours to bring the day. Is death. But once that is done, a roll.
Ergonomics is worse than what I saw on the internet for FastTrack. But we do the same thing. Say what you want to hear on each output from the inputs. We can rgler levels, and also the NAP. It's really well done and especially trs has worked well. on the other hand no effect Intgr. But me, I had no need.

Time to amp simulation software.
They are two. PodFarm and etGearBox. They are free, and contain all the existing simulations Line6. I feel for the other models UX-based simulations is a book, just buy the. I'm not 100%.
The PodFarm is less attractive to GearBox, and especially with PodFarm, it does not recognize visually MODELS amp or effects (you have souventregarder names). I also feel like AIM better than the simulations duGearBox PodFarm. on the other hand PodFarm is a VST plugin, so queGearBox, no (but you can make rewire).
Overall there's plenty to do, and it is REALLY useful. Some simulations are same quality of bluffing (as against the original 100% similarity is a utopia of marketers).

GETTING STARTED

In fact I t surprised to beginners.
There are between instruments, the line inputs and microphone inputs. Only lesmicros are adjustable with buttons on the front. So for lines and instruments, there is no rglage. It is in the driver told him that if you have a microphone or a branch line. Finally it makes sense.
At guitar, I have a fender and a gibson, and the sound is respect. Ramping in, even when you lose a little but of good quality qand same in any case enough for me and my level (20 years of amateur scratch).
I install XP on my laptop, and Vista on my desktop. No problem nor one nor the other.

At latency and recording all possible leads at the same time:
On my old XP 1.6 Ghz, I am 40 ms without any click.
On my Desktop AMD Quad, I am 20 ms without any click.
The latency between the lower output latency (ie weird).

OVERALL OPINION

I have not tried others, but I had other under the eyes.
What I like most: the number of inputs and outputs, the quality of pramp which is very well. But actually you have to go 3 / 4 for an output level correct (without breath). At bottom, there is breath (read the forum rponses the pros). AIM I have a little more under the same foot when it will be the least little quibaissela note.

The silent bargain price right over my budget max, and I think I made a good buy. Apart from this stroke of luck'',''I think I would not regard the UX8 because even when they sell expensive compared to others. So I took the M-Audio ouplutt duPresonus (which everyone speaks well in stores).
But I'm really glad UX8. And even if the price for me in silent limiting nine, I think qu'ilest really justified by the strong and the quality of components and sound. So long live the UX8!
