Best value:
Excellent
I am a guitarist.
For several years, I used one with my group who acted zoom r16 interface / mixer / recorder for all instruments.
I subsequently had the urge to get an interface to play with me and introduce me to the computer music. I wanted one capable of producing high quality sound that the R16 has never provided, while having an attractive product to handle with interesting perspectives level connectivity.
So I made my geek on my favorite webzine, hesitating between different Focusrite, presonus, mackie, motu, apogee one etc. .. My choice was to Libra. Why?
I was able to get 2 track levels mic / line / Hi-Z. In fact, often competing one Hi-Z input.
I wanted to sound quality appointments. Opinions were unanimous on this point.
I was seduced by the small + the balance provided such buttons clip safe, tuner, monitor on-off. Also, being able to connect several tips and leave them in place. It may seem silly but it's nice to be able to pass from one instrument to another without having to change any connections.
And finally, Reason Essentials software provided that I do not know anything. I was tired of Garageband .. So I said Why not!
So in the end, ideal for those who want to play with them without needing full tracks simultaneous recording, and want to use different instruments, type a microphone on one side, the other a guitar, or a guitar a track, the other low. etc. ..
The plus of this interface can be used only in Reason. Those who want to use another DAW can therefore forget.
For detailed specifications, below my colleague has done very well. So I will not plagiarize! but very complete, with 2 PSU ghosts and 2 pads for those who want.
Small bemol: I do not play keyboard but now I think. It is true that for this purpose I would have liked to see taken Midi. For now it does not bother me.
UTILIZATION
Used on a Macbook pro.
No driver needed. stable in stable. no worries, whatever sequencer used.
I use Reason Essentials software that I find very pleasant, more comprehensive and intuitive garageband (this is only my opinion).
Ability to record two tracks simultaneously without worry.
Virtually no latency: input latency 2ms, 1ms output latency, buffer size: 64-96000 sampling frequency.
Question updated, I can not answer. Should be asked to a Windows user.
Adjustments volume and headphone monitoring independent and settlors of a long race.
Small anecdote: the quality of the preamp headphone Balance is much better in my opinion than my Macbook! Now I use it to listen to iTunes music through headphones.
GETTING STARTED
Any kid can use it.
In the intuitive kind, it is hard to beat.
The configuration is simple .. Upon installation of Reason, we request the settings as desired. Even if you do not know anything, no problem from this point of view.
And hop over!
I never heard any compatibility problem about this interface.
There is a manual if I remember correctly but I am not used.
There is also a manual (pdf) very complete and well done to utilize the functionality of Reason.
Really, I have no negative comments to make it there even trying.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it daily for a month.
I have not had the opportunity to try many other models I agree. This is primarily a work of geek depth which allowed me to find all the information I was looking for, and indeed, exactly what I wanted.
I had booked a trio Focusrite scarlett, Apogee one, Propellerhead balance.
The sound quality of them seemed comparable. What makes the difference is the number of inputs, design, durability / reliability (I think the Apogee when I say that, I would have destroyed after one month).
I find excellent value for money. In fact, its taken me so far made a great appeal. Normal say to me, compared to the R16. Reason Duo-Balance is very friendly.
It seems it was more expensive at the time of its release and competitors were perhaps more interesting. At current prices, I think we can go for it.
I would do this choice without hesitation. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this table. I think the cons by amp simulations provided in reason, most dégu__lasses. But the issue is not there!
So for me, it's all good.
