Well a little advice from a hobbyist who wants to have good stuff at home so do not expect to have technical details in it.
I chose it for its size and of course from the renowned brand. It is this brand that I had been advised from the start but we must start small and then I was facing an Edirol FA 101.
Lots of entries, full output that finally I've never used mainly working with plugs and pulse system for guitars then finally goodbye Edirol.
The Babyface runs on a modest PC with Intel Core 2 Duo old and only 3 gigs of ram.
UTILIZATION
No problem with drivers for the moment, I use it with Reaper and it works whether in 32 or 64!
Concerning the latency hard to be a buffer in 256 but obviously it comes from my PC, I tested and it works anyway.
GETTING STARTED
Some difficulties to install under W7 unlike XP where it is rolled. But I was "wrong" read the leaflet and so it finally installed.
Besides the latest news, still no French version of the manual and frankly RME could make an effort anyway. Tired of this type in all the English long (even critical for Toontrack ).... it's even more annoying since I have quite a lot of trouble using the Total FX.
And yet the software is essential to the functioning of the card so thank you for thinking of me (and others)!
OVERALL OPINION
I use it for 3 months and I have been riding the beast with the system of pulses. Using a real amp to him, and although we must admit that the Edirol is no match for the babyface.
Now my mixes are more dynamic and I found out the sound of my amp (and its defects in passing). Even if I come to things not too bad with the Edirol, frankly quality converters and preamps are not comparable.
It is over. I also tested a little the effects of total mix and I find them very good, I still have to learn to use it well to really enjoy and also to test the song but I did well to wait for its release in be more stable (long live usb, firewire goodbye) I am confident of reaching the correct very soon.
So yes to buy.
Also note that the packaging and bag are cared for and it gives me a guarantee of quality!
