I participated in the beta test of the piano, but there are confidentiality provisions in NI, I could not talk about the product before its release. I received the box of the final product, so here I think.

I immediately adapted response on my keyboard (a RD700sx) between medium and heavy (closer to heavy) and the velocity curves of the Akoustik Piano to -1, because I arrived too fast at high velocities.

The factory setting of the volume is too high and resulted in saturation, but it is enough to drop a little below half.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Steinway D without hacking.

The Bosendorfer 290 seemed strange at first. In fact it is because the stereo is too broad. Playing on the knob "Width" set about to "central position - two notches" the sound is warmer, more intimate. And adjusting the velocity curve to -2, we have access to soft stamps dpi, while keeping a good reserve of power.

The Bechstein 280 is very nice. I increased the volume "reso sustain" a little less than 3 / 4 and there he gives the best of himself. And you can win a little to decrease the Width.

Steingraber is the right to play old blues genre stride.

For each of these pianos, the quality of samples "release" is exceptional: the piano is alive! The sounds of keys and pedals are interesting. I had taken this idea to patch my characters on Kontakt 2, but with some nuances, such as making the sound of pedal is more or less strong depending on the speed of depression or release (of course it can not walk that 'with a sustain pedal gradually as the Roland DP8).

I like the button to invert the pan without taking the lead. That seems very useful to simulate different configurations: config. player config. public (with or without convolution ...). We can then place the piano as you want in the mix.

I had the opportunity to compare the virtual piano its direct competitor, the Steinberg The Grand 2 and it is actually not easy to dpartager.

One thing immediately struck me, however (you get used APRS): Akoustik lack of dynamic bass. Of course you can change a passing through the equalizer but it's a constant on the same four pianos on offer in the soft.

It is a pity that the sound and jouabilit are waiting for you (you see the piano sound in "Changes" by Bowie? The Akoustik Steinway sounds like it!).

Akoustik brief is a good product with a clear trs (that of The Grand 2 is felt), and especially well Dfine playable!
Hope that future development will make the day a little more dynamic, especially in the serious once again missing some extent I got.

My opinion is similar to that of trs Elektrik Piano.
PC: AMD 64 3500 +, 1.5 GB RAM, 1 x 200 GB SATA I System, 1 x 400 GB SATA II Datas, sound card M-AUDIO USB.

2 x Montarbo PA TA-10, 2-way crossover, 2 amps per box (1 x 300 + 1 x 170 RMS), SW-540 Boomer, crossover crossover ave 120 Hz, 1 x 540 RMS amp, MT returns -160, 2-way coaxial passive amps 80 watts RMS subwoofer.

1.5 GB RAM is not enough at all, I put on 3 GB for a budding pianist like me.

XP supports the following motherboard only 2.5 GB, and Vista is not yet developed in NI.

Performance is Dtonn, we do not believe it, there is BIS REPETITIVE ELEKTRIK PIANO.

Used for 3 weeks, I am delighted.

Well I will not repeat that it is (very) greedy in RAM.

I've been using the Native Instruments Akoustik Piano virtual instrument for about a year and I have come to know it as one of the best virtual acoustic pianos out there. It was easy to install and doesn't take to long to figure out what everything does. The interface is laid out smartly and everything is right there for you to get a ton of different types of acoustic piano sounds. Having all the presets there is a huge plus as there are a ton of great pre made sounds in this. I run this virtual instrument both as a stand alone piece of software and in Apple Logic. It always runs smoothly for me when I run this on my Mac Book Pro that has a 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GBs of RAM. While I always like to use a real acoustic piano when I can, if that is not an option having Native Instruments Akoustik Piano is a huge asset as it give me a great sound in the box that I can control via a MIDI controller and edit like I would MIDI. It also has a built in metronome and the ability to play audio files that you can play along with. The price is reasonable, especially if you buy this as part of Native Instruments Komplete bundle of virtual instruments. The virtual piano in the interface sets the scene for a real simulation of an acoustic piano. I love the sound quality of this pedal and the price is definitely worth it for what I am trying to do. It is versatile in terms of the different piano sounds and has always run faithfully for me. Overall, I definitely recommend Native Instruments Akoustik Piano for those who want a great sounding piano inside of the box.

I have been using this piano sample player for about 4 months. This thing is great! It is probably the most realistic piano software I have used. I first used it in the studio my band recorded at because their piano was pretty out of tune, and they couldn't get it tuned in time. I was worried this would sound really fake, but it actually came out totally realistic on the piano parts we had. I ended up getting it myself for my home studio. There is a lot of versatility available. You can choose from different pianos, change the EQ, change the width, change how far the "mics" are from the piano, change the environment it is in. With these options it's way easier to get a piano part to fit into your song. It also responds very well to dynamics, thanks to good sampling at different volumes. It was a little bit of a pain to get this installed on my Dell system with Cubase, though. The install takes a long time, and registration is a little bit complicated. It is definitely worth the wait and the small amount of hassle there though. After getting it on my system, I haven't had any problems with it. It does use a large amount of memory as you would expect, so you can't usually run more than one of these at a time depending on your computer. It doesn't really seem to use that much processor power, it mostly just taxes your ram. Since it uses so much ram you might not be able to use it on a laptop for live purposes with a MIDI keyboard, but it is great in a studio where you dont have a good piano available. It is a little bit expensive, but it's so worth it. It is a great value if you want a versatile, realistic sounding piano software. I would make the same choice again.
