Published on 03/05/12 at 00:50Simple implementation, using a PC and a Mac, Cubase Essential 5 and Garageband. No installation issues.
SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE
I was using a laptop with Core Duo 2007 with Cubase Essential 5, now with a 2010 Macbook Pro and Garageband. The important thing is to have an ASIO compatible sound card (using the driver ASIO4ALL) to avoid some problems.
I use it in a fairly simple setup: a drum track, tracks 3-4 guitar, a bass track. Under these conditions the computer is not overloaded, there is no problem.
The trouble performance for loading samples, which may take some time depending on the speed of the hard drive, and a lot of RAM.
OVERALL OPINION
I use EZDrummer in an amateur context, and from this point of view it works very well. Ca in the mix is not "software", except perhaps the side a bit mechanical. It is very far from the sound point of view of sound kits noon.
The kits provided are very useful, but in my context the additional kits dedicated to metal me are necessary.
The overall result was an upgrade from an OEM version, the quality / price ratio is good. For a more pro, Superior Drummer will certainly be more adequate, however.
