If it had faders it might make it more easy to automate things as well, but the knobs give you a hands-on-feel as well.

UTILIZATION

The fantom is so easy to use its so user friendly, and everything is a zap once you get use to it. The work flow is great. But if you can make sure you get some sort of extra ram because it doesn't hold too much audio. It's song mode features and live performance capabilities are great as well.

I've had the fantom for about six months and I travel with it alot, from studio to studio, and back home every other day. Just as long as you treat it with care, you'll be surprised of its durability.

SOUNDS

The sound in the fantom are fairly decent. The drums are sick. With the re-sampling function on it, it's better to just make your own kits of drums anyways. The Strong points on it are the easy to use sequencer, and the ability to automate. I also like how easy they make to to manipulate every single track and to be able to route the effects the way you want. The fantom to me is much greater than a mpc anyday I feel. With the touch sensitive pads, and the sampling capabilities, and its so user friendly, you should choose the fantom.

OVERALL OPINION

I love this thing. Its one of them things were ur out some wher and all you want to do is get back to it to continue to better your productions and learn something new on it as well. I love it!
