Published on 11/30/14 at 08:23Synthesizer workstation. Keyboard 61 keys very nice,
velocity sensitive but not aftertouch. Beautiful screen,
very readable. A myriad of sounds. Roland Axial site
very often proposes new. They are almost all excellent
and cover virtually all sound fields. Machine very
light, a lot of plastic but all of excellent craftsmanship.
Terribly friendly device. For the rest, see other
advice and manufacturer site.
UTILIZATION
Relatively easy to use, however, I had a little trouble
understand the backup system (Studio Set, Tone and Song).
It's very logical, but you just have to get used to. Manual pdf
complete in French available on manufacturer site. Easy editing
sounds and very powerful. Starting from a given preset,
one quickly arrives and with quite a few other manipulations
thing and it is often interesting. I find that the sequencer is fine
and it does the job admirably. I did not find, for use as
I personally, limitation or default. Special mention
for the "microscope" function and the "Mixer" is very ergonomic and
look great on the screen. A few small criticisms anyway ...
With "chord memory" impossible to build an agreement
yourself, choose from a list ??? No pad sensitivity to velocity.
Polyphony pad limited to 8 mono voices. Edition very very poor pads.
Strange operation of the "tempo" button. It is 60 to 240 bpm.
To go from 5 to 300, it must pass through "shift" "tap" and the dial.
That said, it has the ability to record audio at any time and that,
it is really great.
SOUNDS
Many sounds are really extraordinary and others are
less, but it's a bit subjective and often a matter of taste.
In addition there are so many that it's hard to realize.
One can also work with personal sounds through
sampling function. It is wonderful the sound of pianos
Library EXP09 and incredible sound of the organ of the EXP10.
One can get an idea by looking at demonstration sites.
Mixing with classical orchestral sounds is quite
impressive. I put in "Media" a sample sound.
This is page 13 of "The Sea" by Claude Debussy.
I'm pretty amazed at the sound quality of this machine.
The effects are many and truly effective. Excellent filters.
OVERALL OPINION
I am writing this review because I was really delighted with this machine.
I think it's a real musical instrument. Long ago
I had not had such fun with an electronic instrument.
The device is very general and the possibilities are endless.
Synthesis style sound design, made up instrumental style
big band or small groups, this unit is extremely
versatile. It does all this, and he does it remarkably well.
There! I wanted to say ...
