I have now for over 2 years ... So I decided to leave an opinion.

UTILIZATION

Manual not great (it served me a few times anyway). Anyway as beacoup people of my generation I tritouille all the buttons before reading the manual, faisnat trust my instincts! and contrary to what many say, I still find it intuitive. (This is my first yamaha.)
Touch top, fast and pleasant. (Connected via MIDI to a digital piano technics for Pr in touch piano).

SOUNDS

Sounds ...
Y 'full of all styles ... but as usual we never find what you want ... (I mean the synth sounds). so I immersed myself in the synthesis, and there what a surprise: the samples are very good: THE PRESETS ARE VERY LOING OF WHAT THE PROGRAM CAN BE WITH THIS MACHINE. The names of the famous synth samples are hardly hidden: saw303, sqr303, mgbass, T8 and T9 borers etc ... (Connoisseurs will recognize) ... (Note that samples of Yamaha synths have their original names: DX7, CS80 ...). Use them without too much impact with a good set of envelope can produce sounds terrible. The presets are too flouttés in effect, most of them still quite 80 years or Dance.
That said, the effects are exelant for the most part.
I found that the bores were all alike on this synth, but again, I put the hands dirty and also surprise. By reprogramming the whole: by adding a slight distortion followed by a compression you can have HUGE Kicks. I even sounds drilled starting from a white noise ...

The factory settings are loaded too low: the mix and mastering effects on paterns do not sound pro ... The bass sounds are also very loaded ... ... too low. In short it reprogrammed and then ...

the least of this synth:
The mastering compressor and other multiband compressors are fairly anecdotal
No filter top (sounds really digital): we do our best days.
Some digital effects too (disto. ..)
Bug mode pattern: sometimes I record the track is copied to a track (thankfully still empty before, but not top top ...)
Acoustic sounding synth sounds, but not worse than pluspart of these competitors: some are very good (keyboards, electric bass some, some organs ... and many others) while others are not really tops (brass, the pluspart of strings.
The guitars have a great huge leap forward with this synth (and notably his arpeggiator) but there is still much to do.

OVERALL OPINION

More: samples, programming, effects ...
Cons: some sounds, filter, some effects ...
IS CRITICIZED ON A WORKSTATION REPROUIRE NOT THE BEST ALL INSTRUMENTS??
Frankly given the price (€ 2,000) can not be in a Fender, a Gibson, a Stradivarius in a sax € 30,000, a grand piano to € 100,000, a set of vintage synth etc ...
That's why I put him a "small" 9 / 10

THE HARDWARE STILL A bright future

I was able to cite only a fraction qualities (and flaws) tellements these capabilities are enormous
