[Musikmesse] Yamaha launches the TRBX basses

Yamaha introduced at Musikmesse their new TRBX-Series electric basses, with four 4 and 5-string models.

The Yamaha TRBX Series features two 300 and 500 lines, each one with one 4 and one 5-string basses.

Specifications of the TRBX304 and TRBX305:

  • Mahogany body
  • Bolt-on 5-piece maple and mahogany neck
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • 10" radius on the 4 string version (TRBX304), 23–5/8" on the 5-string model (TRBX305)
  • Nut width: 38mm on the TRBX304 / 43mm on the TRBX305
  • Scale length: 34"
  • 2 MHB3 pickups, ceramic magnets
  • Controls: volume, balance, bass, treble, Performance
  • Hi-mass bridge, 19mm spacing between strings on the TRBX304, 18mm on the TRBX305
  • Black nickel hardware
  • Available finishes: Pewter, Black, White, Candy Apple Red and Mist Green

The TRBX504 (4 strings) and TRBX505 (5 strings) have the same specifications as the TRBX300 models, except for the electronics and available finishes. Theses basses use two HHB5 Alnico V pickups, an active/passive switch and a battery level LED are also present. The Performance control disappears and the EQ has 3 bands. You can choose between three finishes: Translucent Black, Translucent White and Translucent Brown.
