Micro with field effect transistors, lined for the speaking and singing voice. On this model Gabin sing (say) "I know, I know, I know ..." It has been seen in "Star Academy" ... and yes, that alone!

OVERALL OPINION

Bought used in good condition to an old gentleman who was closing shop, and wanted to hear what I recorded / mixed before I sell it. In 1997 paid the sum of € 2000. I regret it. For the singing voice, it is among my favorites, with U87ai and M149. A little breath, but who cares, it's hot-hot, more than the other two. I resell it. It helps me every week.

OVERALL OPINION

The sound is epai U47 FET, with a very pronounced proximity effect, a generous bass response, with very good depth perception and distance traveled by the wave, you feel the sound move, wander through a tom , a kick in the back of a guitar.
In the U47 fet microphone singing can be very convincing, however, attention to the distance, the timbral signature depends greatly restored, more than other brand models (U87, TLM170)

he needs a good pre amp that cash, beefy and not blowing too, so I like the 47 with the fet neve 1073 or crane song flamingo.
is a micro seriously impressive with a beautiful signature sound, a standart since the mid 70's, nothing to do with the current philosophies: (circuit without transformer, microphone body light and resonant, fragile) it's all here Conversely, it's solid, one for insurance to use a real tool, mine (the one pictured) dates from 1980 and works great, I do not know how sound a neumann present in 30 years !! already today ......................

This condenser mic is for studio use only. It has a cardioid pickup pattern and a high tolerance for SPL. The mic has been around since the late 1940s and was an enormously popular mic for years (and still is, although they haven't been in production for quite awhile.) All Neumann mics are highly regarded and this is no exception; in fact, it may be the microphone that has been most responsible in getting Neumann the acclaim that it has garnered over the years. It is particularly good at recording vocals. I've also seen the head engineer from the studio I work at use it as a room mic in many different scenarios (when recording drums, bass, and piano). I've never heard it used on any session where it didn't sound good for whatever capacity it was used in.

OVERALL OPINION

I have been using this mic since I started working part time at a studio as an intern (over six months). I've set it up for a number of sessions and it's really not too difficult to use. Getting a good sound out of it is a breeze. I've heard it with many different preamps, including the ones that come standard with Focusrite mixing boards, and it's always worked incredibly well. It would probably be my go-to for most vocalists unless they were looking for a less clean, pristine sound. I don't own one, but I use it on a regular basis so I would be pretty keen on buying one if I had the money. I would have to advise, though, that paying for one nowadays can cost a fortune. Only use it if you're never going to take it out of the studio and you only let qualified people handle it, because it's also a pain to get fixed. However, it's also arguably the most impressive mic I've ever used. George Martin allegedly claimed that it was his favorite microphone. If that doesn't make the case for it's quality, I don't know what does. I would certainly say that if you can afford it you can't go wrong.

This mic is a an old large diaphragm condenser that has been around forever. I think they are no longer made, but they are still around in relatively large numbers. These mics have been used on the lead vocals of countless huge recordings, and not to mention as instrument mics on many others. This is an extraordinary mic, and there are very few things that don't sound good through one. It is a condenser, so it does require power in order to work. It also connects with a standard XLR mic cable. The pickup pattern is a cardioid. These are very expensive, so don't let them out of the studio unless you are super rich and can afford to replace it. These do have a high allowance for SPL, so people frequently stick them in front of a kick drum to get more definition on it.

OVERALL OPINION

These have been around since before I was born, and I've been using them for years. Everything about this mic smacks of quality, from the build to the sound quality. These are one of the finest condenser mics available. Vocals tend to sound perfect through them, so you can worry a lot less about EQ. I have tried a wide range of condenser mics, and this one is fantastic. The value is only okay, because they are so expensive. You definitely get an amazing mic for your money though. Another great use for these is for room mics. These are very sensitive, so you can hear the small articulations in your room, which is a great thing if it's a good sounding room to begin with. There's a reason that these have been around for so long - they really do work magic on most anything you record with it. I don't own one, but I have used them many times. I wish I could get one!
