How do you use the controller functions on the Oxy8v2 in Digital Performer?

Hello-
I have an Oxygen8 v2 hooked up to a Mac via USB.
I also have other MIDI devices connected thru a MOTU Microlite.
I run Digital Performer 5.13
I can use the Oxy8 as a midi keyboard and it will allow me to record MIDI sounds from a Sound Canvas.

I can not figure out how to get the transport buttons or any of the controller dials to work.
Shouldn't I be able to control the SC-50 parameters or use the transport controls?
I'm not sure where to look. Does the SC-50 need to be set to receive Oxy8 mdii messages or should digital performer....or Apple Core Audio take care of this? Am I having problems because the Oxy8 is plugged in to the Mac's USB while the other devices are connected via the MIicrolite? I've tried looking in the Audio/Midi set up but am not sure how to use it to connect the Oxy8 with the other midi devices.
Help!
Any suggestions would be welcome.
