Simple USB connection, no need external power, great design ..
I have so far used the USB port for connectivity, which must be a little mfier for drivers, and force its installation so even if it n'tait not recognized by my software .

UTILIZATION

We biensr far from a real piano touch is always sufficient to electronic music etc. .. but it is one of the points that I'll be careful when I achter one more (touch (semi-) heavy).
The assignment of pitch and modulation wheels is very simple, it dpend especially APRS software. And so from the small problem of USB drivers, it is simple to configure.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for about 2 months.
I like his lgret and therefore easy to transport, its beautiful finish, knobs ..
on the other hand, it's really just 49 keys, is the point that I regret a little, not to be taken with a 5 octave (61 keys), just to be able to play some songs properly. (My neighbor has 88 keys, is a sr)

It has a Midi output, an input for sustain pedal, fed by USB, the keys are assignable and programmable, a knob modulation and pitch bend over volume control .. these characteristics there for that price I says yes me!

UTILIZATION

The feel is pretty good anyway I'm not Ray Charles and what I will do it even if I still have to admit that he is really good support for its highest and conversely if is pressed the sound is just for my taste may be too low .. not necessarily very user friendly on that side

OVERALL OPINION

If you want a good keyboard for your lil VST to start the M-Audio is perfect, it is easy to install, beautiful, looks pretty sturdy and has the least connection to a little bit of stuff ... The value for money is unbeatable in my opinion.
If it again I would not hesitate!

UTILIZATION

- The touch keyboard is it enjoyable? Should you use? I'm not a Glenn Gould Swifs then must be pressed hard to have a trs VLOC maximum cons.

It is nice but trs-level drivers that there is the problem significant, making it work in USB is very simple, midi is a different story (not feasible in the plug and play you must use the supplied cd) drivers are not signed numriquement, so that the windows uninstall each dconnexion / off the keyboard and as the installation requires a reboot is weighing . Some problem with Reason beginners should be added to the keyboard and not manually select the one proposed by the autodtection.

UTILIZATION

The touch is nice for the work of arrangement, composition for the velocity is not really to go and nothing beats the feel of a piano.
The configuration is as simple as selecting MIDI channels. It is recognized without problems.
The manual is probably very clear but I have so far not had need.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 8 months and what I like most is that it is USB and power by the latter making it very portable so convenient with my laptop and my edirol UA25.
I try a Korg of the same type before but € 70 more expensive. The Keystation does very well with a great value for money.
This choice I would do without hesitation.

49 basic keys, but with USB connection ... Perfect for my little Vst

Good quality price in my opinion!

This is a really cheap 49 key board. Features? What features? It has a mod wheel and that's about it. This is truly a product geared toward budget studios. That's exactly the application I bought it for way back when. I was starting up a studio and needed a good USB keyboard to play instruments. I didn't need any frills or crazy controls. This one has none. The price was right so I got one.

UTILIZATION

Setup is easy enough. Just install the driver and plug it in. M-audio generally has pretty good drivers. Any issues I've had with them have always been my own error. No need for a manual since this thing is literally a piano and nothing more. I guess it would be nice if there was a velocity selection. It's not like it matters though. This is truthfully a beginners unit. The price and features reflect that.

OVERALL OPINION

My big gripe with this keyboard, has to be the keys themselves. Yes I understand that this is a very cheap and budget unit, but you would think that for what we lose in features, we could get some good keys. Or some decent keys. They are advertised as semi weighted I believe but they don't feel like it. This keyboard is comparable in feel to those $50 Wal mart keyboards you buy for your daughter at Christmas. I have used a few other M-audio keyboards like the Axiom series and I must say the key quality and feel on those is much much better. The difference in price makes it worth it imo. I suppose though if you are a beginner and you don't care about the feel, this is a fine studio unit. I mean it gets the job done. Never junked out on me. I wish M-audio would make a no-feature keyboard with good keys though. I don't need all the crazy knobs that the axioms have and would like one of those with good keys alone. I guess a good way to sum up my thoughts is that I am upset with the quality but for the price I really don't feel right complaining. You get what you pay for.

UTILIZATION

The major weakness is the sensitivity: I use it with the velocity disabled because it is zero. I who am 7 years of piano necessarily I'm accustomed to the touch of a piano but even without being demanding about this keyboard is useless as a function unusable.

The strong point: it is powered by USB = no need for another cable = nomad. Convenient to take along a laptop is not my case but it makes for fewer cables. ^ ^
May be lack of control knobs, but as others have said the price should not push.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 3-4 years, I have no other and I have no other uses.
