OVERALL OPINION

I, unwanted for 3 years now, this is my first master keyboard, I used a synthesizer before,
+ the touch, easily configurable with FL Studio
the - impossible linké keyboard faders to protools virtual faders (on protools is just little control virtual instruments via keyboard)
with the experience I will turn the worm axiom pro to be able to work with protools with confidence

I had to give an opinion on the AXIOM 49 after that ... 1 month to just let go (power failure). So I asked in return for the AXIOM 61.
The technical features that motivated my choice: The 8 pads, 9 sliders, 8 Knobs, a MIDI mapping complete (once you understand the philosophy of the keyboard settings, it's going alone). The semi weighted keyboard (I will return later). Only drawback, the power supply that is not delivered (I do not use the USB therefore obliged to get a universal power supply 12 V dc and 300 mA recommended) go 1 point less for that. The price is rather for its honest. Let me tell you right away that I left with a priori on the reliability of the axiom (many of us have had problems with the 49 see forum)

UTILIZATION

- The touch keyboard is it fun?
So there I must admit that I have a little trouble to me. I find it super loud and a little soft for my taste. slap it on a regular basis, there is a feeling of locking key with a "click". In short it is a bit random. To see after the break. I'm afraid ...

- Should your use?
Well I am not a pianist, and I use it mainly for the ground where synthesizers of all kinds so it goes. Good for the pads on the other hand who are very nice

- The general configuration is it simple?
I think it's a question of use. The assignment of the chip is different is very simple. M-Audio provides editing software that is aptly named: "ENIGMA". I tried it and I am pressed for direct assignment by the keyboard.

- The selection of MIDI channels, patches is easy?
No problem there. Some mistakes early career I was directly changed bank (FATAL RECALL!) Matter of habit again

- The manual is clear and sufficient?
PDF manual that I rushed to print and bind. The manual appears to be much complete.

Yes the AXIOM49, I also have the UF8 who happens to be super comfortable in my closet ...

In the middle: It has a solid appearance but I fear the worst for the keyboard part ...
the notched knobs scare me too. and short-throw fader seems to hold water. Everything is a matter of time ...

- With experience, you do again this choice?
This is one of the most comprehensive market yes. After KONTROL49 Korg seems to me a lot too, but a little more expensive.

- What characteristics have motivated your choice?
Faders and pots in numbers, the pads, all fairly well laid out and pleasant to use.
The connection is also nice but not great, the midi interface works great.
I do not put him at 10 for quality of materials, it's a chouille plastoc ....

UTILIZATION

In use, it's a nice keyboard. I am a pianist and I had a lot wrong with me at the keyboard synthesizer. And just in terms of touch Axiom is pretty good! It is soft of course, but this should not lure good, hard to find a MIDI keyboard touch "piano". So to touch it is rather a good point. Next, use, sometimes there are strange things ... I spoke a little cheap materials, and many that playing close to the keyboard (notably the drums) vibrates the plastic and triggers the pads .... So you have to remove all assignments of pads to be quiet. Reason I'm working on and when recording, I understand why I had a sequence that is triggered in the middle of the outlet, and the grave!
The general configuration is rather simple, ie, you plug, it works. After if you want to get into the heart of the beast, that's another story. There is a software to create his own config, "Enigma" .... It is very aptly named.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year and I am really happy! Apart from the little problems quickly resolved that it be recognized in reason (well that's cool), the number of important control, a relatively usable touch and readability of the screen make this a very good keyboard choice.

I wanted a keyboard that I permetre of fl studio then jou on a MIDI keyboard and following diffrent research I did on the master keyboard, I opt for a prfr m audio axiom 61 I have often seen in home studio!

Touch ass is "plastic" shame!

Configuration: a true galre, over 4 hours of searching out a sound on fl studio! really complicated when you are a novice ...

manual: you will be fine after reading 49 pages
