All user reviews for the M-Audio Radium 61

The Midiman(now called M-Audio) Radium 61 is a 61 key, synth action keyboard with 8 knobs and 8 sliders. It is meant for amateur musicians to use as a way to input notes into their DAW of choice and play and control instruments within a DAW. It is USB powered(a nice feature, since you don't have to have another cord for the power). It has a USB port, midi in and out and sustain pedal jack on the back, though I've only ever used the USB mode. I've had no issues with the jacks or anything, and setup was pretty simple. The driver was easy to find on M-Audio's website, and the installation was quick and painless, and it worked like a charm after that. The board is of standard build quality, passable for sure but nothing outstanding. The knobs feel a little cheap, and don't turn a full 360, and the sliders are pretty awful, but I mostly bought it to put in the back of a van just to hash out arrangements on long road trips.

UTILIZATION

Setup was a breeze. I downloaded the legacy keyboard driver installer from M-Audio's website, installed it and was done. I just configured the DAW's I was using to utilize it, and presto! It worked! No complicated setups, missing or incompatible drivers etc. I've had no issues with it so far, regardless of whether it's plugged into a Mac, or a PC. Configuration is pretty standard for comparable Midi keyboards, as long as you have the manual you'll be just fine.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall this is a solid and usable product. I wouldn't tour with it, I wouldn't play a show or perform with it but it does exactly what it was made for: offering an alternative form of input from clicking in notes with a mouse in our DAW of choice. So far it has performed that function perfectly, and I have no regrets about the purchase.

keyboard correct, this is not a piano, but I'm not a pianist so widely enough for me (I have a pot which makes it looks correct)

it is necessary to have the place to put the keyboard
otherwise I've had at least six years, still works as well
never worry about assigning the patches of plugs
I certainly redeem this type of product if it was necessary.

I am not a specialist in master keyboards, but given its price (280 euros or the I bought it was I think a good quality price.
the keyboard and Controller rpondent well, it's pretty easy to program via the menu-shift, and store 15 bit paramtrages Different. All MIDI controllers can be assigned any Settings, in short, an excellent keyboard live.

the only thing I could blame him, it's plastic-ct Bontempi, the keyboard is certainly not a heavy touch, but for the price, do not all the same RVer! but I do not care a bit much, as it does everything I ask him!

Purchased for the knobs, and quality, at the time, seemed honorable.
classical midi out and midi out another parallel dialogue with the USB port, which then, as is usual today, as an interface noon. Must be a pedal input, I think.

UTILIZATION

Attention to avoid keyboard for keyboard players confirmed, otherwise discover, over time, dating back two three notes proudly above the other, to the point that they resign. MIDI configuration is taken from head, it would seem that one can not change the exchange control knobs, and the total lack of select physical patch (to assign a key to a sound) makes it the ideal keyboard for penguins.
Not to mention the profound joy that comes from the labyrinth of change midi channel (press button, select MIDI Channel, enter notes using the channel number, press OK, and press again on the first button to return to standard keyboard.) => "Wait, guys, in three steps and a half, I changed her!"
IS of course the manual in English. With explanations for neuneux (like a midi out, it's going in a midi in, sisi, I swear ...)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it extensively for a year and a half and I think my favorite is the note that is supported on its own, ca throws by repeating or concert musique concrete way ...
What I like least is to have purchased it! I have done better to take the new model of edirol, which appears to be less toy ...
... Oh, by the way, allow € 15 for the power supply ...

I chose this keyboard because I needed to control Reason, 61 keys keyboard, 16 controllers, 2molettes, everything is programmable, plus it adds a MIDI interface to my mac at once with a single USB port, I plug the keyboard + sound module.
and m-audio, I rather trust since it's a little early to have made this type of keyboard (oxygen, radium, Keystation ...)

UTILIZATION

So there I am not at all agree with the reviews on this keyboard.
There's only to see that all users are satisfied with their Audiofanzine radium49, keystation49 & 61, oxygen, why would it be different radium61?

the quality of the keyboard is similar to that kind of keyboard, as well as Edirol, emu, and other competitors (in the same price range).
FatarStudiologic was obviously a better quality, but costs 3ou4 times more for a size and weight that has nothing to do ...
So for me, easy, manual very clear and very good quality keyboard, the pots and faders have an excellent qualitée (equivalent to a high-end synth NovationKS eg)

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for 1 year, I was not disappointed, great value for money (like everyone MAUDIO gear for that matter).
I tried a edirol and esi, and I preferr the MAUDIO.
if I were to buy a keyboard / usb I will take an m-audio no doubt.
ps: I do not bump MAUDIO

UTILIZATION

This is the easiest Midi Controller to use that I have seen by far no Midi Control hangups when installing just plugin the USb pop in the drivers and your off..

I have dropped it multiple times and even had a producer get some pancake syrup inside the keys and I fixed it within an hour with no problems everything still works and its nearing 3 yrs old.

OVERALL OPINION

I cant get enuff of it I can tweak everything with it and even automate my mixes with it. I wouldnt give it up if someone offered me $100 dollars more than I payed for it.
