Fender CD-60CE [2011-2016]

This is Fender's middle of the road acoustic. Mahogany back and sides, nato neck and a spruce top. I'm not positive if the back and sides are real wood, but for under $300 with a case, I'm not going to worry too much.

Another thing to oh and ah over is the onboard preamp with built in tuner.

I bought this for $299 with a hardshell case, new! I played it against a bunch of other guitars in its price range and this was a no questions asked winner. It was even able to compete with guitars twice its price.

It felt great. The neck was slim, it say easy in my lap and it was just one of those guitars you didn't want to set down. The tone wasn't amazing, but it had an even tone that would make a great beater, campfire, couch or bar guitar.

The built in tuner is a nice feature. The signal mutes, so no unwanted tuning noise when you are playing live.

The strap button above the neck was a welcomed added bonus.

Nothing. I mean sure if you stack it next to a top shelf Martin or Taylor you will find fault, but I think this is a great instrument

Well built. As I said before, I think the back and sides are laminate, but I'm not certain. The craftsmanship is good, the electronics are good, the hardware is good, you're getting a ton of guitar for the price tag.

Give your Martin the night off and take this out to the bar. You'll love the playability and plugged in tone.

To start off this review, I want to say that 95% of what I play is on Electric guitar. But I took a couple of guitar classes that required an acoustic guitar, so I went shopping for one. I settled on this particular one for reasons that I'll explain later in the review. For now, here are the basic specs on it:

Made in China

Fishman Piezoelectric pick-up system with built-in tuner. Controls for it are as follows: Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble.

Sunburst finish (Hence the "SB" after the model number)

20 Frets. The neck on this thing is pretty decent for an acoustic guitar, though I have fairly big hands, so your mileage may vary.

Tuners on this thing are your standard Grover-style knock-offs

UTILIZATION

I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the build quality on this guitar. So far, the only thing that I've found shabbyfaulty is the tuner-on switch. Whatever latching system it used has since broken, and to tune you have to hold the button down. Not exactly practical, so I'll probably have the tech at my local shop take look at it.
Besides that, I haven't found any faults with the build quality, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to this stuff.

Fret access is good for an acoustic guitar, as it is a cutaway, which is one of the top reasons I got this guitar. The fret job on the neck was also well done and I haven't developed any problems with dead notes, etc.


SOUNDS

While I'm sure that this doesn't sound near as nice as a Gibson or a Martin, I didn't need a several thousand dollar acoustic guitar for a couple of classes. That being said, out of all of the sub $500 dollar acoustic guitars at the store, this one sounded by far the best. My only complaint is that it is a little on the dull side, but I think I can fix that with a set of brighter strings.

When I do play acoustic guitar, I like to play stuff that has powerful chords and a lot of movement in it, think the acoustic parts to Metallica's "Fade to Black". This guitar works decently well for what I use it for, even if I do wish it was a brighterjangly-er.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, I have to say that I am more than pleased with the purchase of the guitar. $300 with a Fender hard-case for a guitar that sounds this good is a absolute steal. I tried out all of the other sub-$500 acoustics in the store, and this one sounded the best. I would buy this same guitar again in a heartbeat, because it not only sounds great, but the price was great as well.

My final verdict? If you are looking for that ultimate acoustic guitar tone, then this is obviously not going to be the guitar for you. On the other hand, if you don't play acoustic all that often, and you just

USE

round super enjoyable, despite the size of the cash dreadnough, we pass the end barrs handle without problems, the strings are very agrables also, access to acute is excellent (pan shot requires)

its pure very soft acoustic bass, its not too mtallique.
it is a branch rgal.

SONORITS

I play ballads, blues and it suits me really well.

NOTICE GLOBAL

I for 1 month, I tried a Cort, Ibanez both a Stagg and I prfr Fender, equality with Cort (less well finished and pram basic )dropoff window

I like the glossy finish, its colors, mcaniques, super readable built-in tuner, I paid 173 euros, unbeatable. and do not tell me about Lg Ibanez or under the same price, only Cort (most expensive) was gal game.

fariquée in China is marked above, as specified FENDER USA. I translate: it's done in China but it is well done: clean finish, frets filed down well no coup, claw, defect in appearance. the mechanical oil bath are gentle and precise, the guitar is perfect agreement.
pre-amp is brand Fisman, with simple settings (bass, middle, treble, volume) but efficient, the big plus is the built-in tuner: very convenient. the neck is thin, the action set properly, a quality control sheet is provided with the values observed action. the guitar comes with a cable jack, an ankle replacement. Warranty is 5 years.

UTILIZATION

Far no sound had not really agreed (cort, lag 4 seasons, Ibanez) I even bought a baby, putting on my morphology is that I do felt uncomfortable with drednough, he had to go to the store, armed with a selection of models in my budget (200 €), to find the fender, on which brand yet many a priori circulating on the net (acoustic). so I tried a Cort 5 guitars, 2 Ibanez, Fender and a last one which I can not remember the brand. Unquestionably, the Fender was more enjoyable to play and sounded mostly empty as best connected. Access to treble cutaway bonds is very good. despite my size, I play without worry in the end run and put the bars very well. I can play for an hour and a half without any fatigue. The EQ is very good, nothing to say about her.

I play variety, blues, guitar sounds very good.
I play on a 10 watt Kustom amp (not intended for electro but hey ..)


OVERALL OPINION

I play for a month, the first sound I really like, way ahead of Cort and Lag ..
I do it again without hesitation that choice, I love its finish, its playability, sound and built-in tuner.
