Purchased on clearance from Musicians Friend for $229 in May 2002

Beautiful black. Takamine playability. Excellent 3 band EQ. Great plugged in sound. Adequate unplugged sound

Black finish shows fingerprints. Lower grade of rosewood on the fretboard.

All black, laminate constuction. Very good looking. A few minor finish blemishes.

This was a good buy for the money. It is used at church and at outside events, so the laminate was a good choice. Has held up well and makes a superb choice plugged into the PA.

Acadamy of Sound Norwich UK
220 GBP
Jan-2000
Why - see below!!!

Unplugged its tinny and weedy but plugged in it sounds brilliant and the TK has excellent options inc. notch for nasty feedback.

It looks great (if you like black and the cutaway jumbo shape). The pre-amp is brilliant it is also easy to get at when you're playing and the controls do what they say (not all eq's do much at all in my experience)! The battery change is also a cinch.

It feels nice to play (not quite a sante fe but check the price...), it stays in tune, is intonated, sounds great,

The body is 400mm and only 110mm deep which is comfy to wear and ballances nice (now I've added the strap button).

Unplugged sound, meaty neck - but I'm used to a 1970's electric shredder...

Takamine - says it all!

Any short comings I would accept at twice the price. List price at the time was 299 so good old AOS for the discount.
