I chose these speakers for their general appearance by trusting the brand image of ALESIS. The technical seemed good for a decent rate. I needed to mix the group with drums, bass, keyboards, and synth prog. The cross on top of the enclosure is very convenient and the light that turns red when the gain is too high.

SOUNDS

These speakers are very far from neutral. Coloration to the lack of bass and dynamics, despite a perfect installation. Boomers face immediately to the slightest touch of the bass drum and everything must be compressed. The clip indicator flashes to a low note digital piano type S90ES. The sound is completely different whether you're at 1.50m or 2.50m. We must re-equalize each frequency and as soon as you move to another system, the sound has nothing to do with what is mixed. I programmed a Korg Triton (60 prog personal) on these speakers, at a concert and the sound tech regroove all Equal usual.

OVERALL OPINION

I used these speakers two months time to set a triton extreme, I tried everything to get them to sound worthy of the name, I had a hard time selling them. finally they are parties to 150 € the pair and I immediately bought YAMAHA HS80 which for once is a treat.

A tip: never buy these speakers even listen to music in the toilet. I do not even advise the niche of your dog.

- The frequency curve is sufficiently neutral?

blah yeah its going to need a can test the different settings but I have found what too low, however, I like her but I think what amplifies a bit compared to last all the high frequency is still quite subjective knowing it's in my room with not necessarily the right conditions.

- The stereo image is good?

yes they are on that side.

- The sound is clear and precise on the spectrum?

I find it rather have a foulli when the instrument 'in the same frequency range sounds coming off too I think, particularly in the midrange, the lower it is not too foulli it's nice.

- The dynamics are respected? ...

I confess that as these are my first enclosure monitoring I know too much to say.

- What is so special that you like most and least?

The small LED button to turn on the top and not behind (my geek side), I like the fact not too hard to distinguish what is the instrument 'if we have a responsible mix (even it's not a big prod forcing my mix).

- Have you tried many other models before buying it?

ba 3 / 4 models such prodipe PRO8 or something like it in the same price range what.

- How would you rate the quality / price?

Really not bad.

- With experience, you do again this choice? ...

A yes it is altogether very well the sound is very good for a certain time with mix loaded.

OVERALL OPINION

I publish this opinion only because these monitors have been worth-t in by people who obviously bought it for mixing prcis, which is not at all their crneau.

In home studio I find them perfect, because they sound very fragrant, a small hollow in mdiums, an image a little EXAGRES, lgre a bump in the bass, I find a perfect to give confidence in a production session.

Not to be used for mixing, of course. In this context, it has a lot of default. But for use in production, costs "for fun" or to watch a movie, they are really good in this price range.

So those who know why they achtent, I say "go ahead". For those seeking more prcises speakers in a budget of 300 euros, take plutt the Yamaha HS-50M. They are more neutral, you are more likely to have a mix coutable with the alesis.

Note that my rating does not absolutely reflte absolute quality of the product, it is relative to other opinions that have come down compltement these monitors and repel people for whom they would be more than adapates Genelec or other tenors of the bar.

There is nothing, I tried but I can not. As the first monitors to replace your computer or your speakers panasonic multimedia, fine. For all others, you do not have to monitor in the stud has just happening, but even to produce it's horrible, it's clutter, no depth, it is soft, a fatigue You Save frankly and pay you better!

In order to obtain Focal solo6be me to finally be able to trust what I do.

I got these monitors for a reference pair for my synth/programming station. I just wanted a second pair of passable speakers to check sounds over, so I was looking for a good bargain with at least pretty good sound. I arrived at these speakers, and was a bit disappointed. They're active speakers, so they don't need an external amp.

The frequency response of these things sounds very bass light, and upper mid and high heavy. The result is a pretty unnatural and harsh sound overall. I definitely didn't like the sound of these monitors. The stereo image is okay - it really should be with so much upper mid hyping. The bass is definitely lacking, you can really hear some 150hz mud pumping along but there's no real substance. The dynamics also seem a little bit slow, it sounds like they are smearing a little bit. Overall these monitors just sound kind of cheap, which I guess they are.

I had these for a period of a few months before I sold them off and replaced them for a different set of bargain speakers. I have used a lot of different types of monitors. I mostly just got them for the cheap price, the convenience of their being active monitors, and their smaller size so they'd fit well in the slightly cramped working area that is my synth station. I would say these are an okay value, but I will tell you that you can get better for the same price if you look to other manufacturers. They do look pretty nice with their stylish white folded-back area, but looks aren't everything. I wouldn't get these again - the sound quality is just not really up to par and I didn't enjoy listening to them. Skip these - check out some other speakers in this price range.
