Value For Money :
Excellent
Purchased to replace my Mackie HR 624, active studio monitors that I was not satisfied.
SOUNDS
Pregnant neutral, dynamic, precise and clear. Xlr-connected to my AIO Rme they deliver a great power.
OVERALL OPINION
Purchased in May 2011.
I tried and listened to some earlier Yamaha MSP10 Studio monitors, Mackie, Adam, Dynaudio BM15A.
I've had HR 624, which are absolutely not pregnant and neutral colored (too low "draft", slobbering) flattering to hear of electronic music but have no place in a home studio, to record a misery properly!
I like the sound of the 3031A is neutral, clean, analytical ... Qualities that are essential to compose music on computer in conditions almost acceptable.
What I like least? Not much compared to what is good. Dynamics struck me perfectible but that's okay though ... The choice of the position of buttons on the top of MA and back is impractical.
The value for money is excellent. It is always better but it is four times more expensive in Adam (for example) and if the headroom is a factor that interests you, you can not beat the price.
A great choice for tight budgets. I plan to buy two other pairs ... but I'll wait a bit, I have no return on their behavior over time (reliability).
