The Genelec 8351A monitor is included in the SAM range. Its front panel only shows the MaxDCW (Maximised Directivity Control Waveguide) for the 0.75” tweeter mounted on a 4” MDC (Minimum Diffraction Coaxial) medium speaker, but behind this coaxial design hide two 8.5” oval woofers. Genelec used here its Acoustically Concealed Woofers technology.
The 8351A also features a 150W (LF) + 120W (MF) + 90W (HF) tri-amplifier and all this fits into a 452 × 287 × 278mm enclosure and weighs only 19kg.
You’ll find on the rear of the monitor an analog XLR input, 2 AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs (XLR) and two RJ45 ports for networked monitoring via the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager 2 software with AutoCal measurement system.
Frequency response announced for this new 8351A is 32Hz – 40kHz (-6dB) with a ±1.5dB accuracy between 38Hz and 21kHz, and max SPL is 110dB.
