Yamaha MSP3

The Yamaha MS P3’s are a set of monitors that I have used on several occasions. They are some of the first monitors that we possessed at our studio across town. They did they job for a long time, and we didn’t really have many complaints with them, until we upgraded our studio and got some monitors that cost more and then we said, “wow, what have we been missing”. The Yamaha Ms P3’s work great with out a doubt, but once you hear that same mix you just did in some other monitors of high quality you will hear what i'm talking about.

SOUNDS

Sounds good though, I really like the accuracy between the mid range and the low range. They are exaggerated at all like a lot of affordable monitors are. Not too much with the design of these monitors just basic dull design. These where created to mix with not to look at. I really have no complaints with the sound, but these are typical affordable monitors in my opinion, they have a decent sound and you think you have a great monitor until you hear a higher quality one then you are shocked!


OVERALL OPINION

Overall, we used these for a bout a year or maybe a little longer before deciding to upgrade and go with something else that sounded a little better after our trip to the local music store. We were able to trade these in a get about 50 percent of what we paid for them back to put toward our next set of monitors which is good, that means they hold there value pretty well. But you can always purchase them use them and if you don’t like them take them back within the 30 days or whatever your store’s policy is. If you are on a budget look into some of the Mackie Monitors or Alesis and compare them to these. These will fall short.

- I wished to be a long-term set of monitor speakers at a reasonable and appropriate for maximum application. (I do not mixes of 5.1)

- I opted initially for local pregnant because my studio is currently small. I use them to carry out pre-master music (rock, funk, hip-hop, jazz, blues) music by the meter, sound banks, and track records. I am particularly pleased that MSP3 is shielded, it avoids magnetic interference (with cathode ray tubes for example), my studio is small. (And not equipped with an LCD screen)

Audio interface, pre-amp, I have a range of professional equipment, and the series of Yamaha MSP have no complex have.

SOUNDS

- The sound could not be more neutral, and delivers superb midrange, treble is a little aggressive to my ear ... Finally, note that you can not mix with those of infrabass pregnant. (I took my troubles patiently !!!!)

- I placed about 2 meters and a half from each other, and I'm in the center, at a distance of about 1.5 meters. I'm transcended, the stereo image is well defined, very good reach, and we can clearly speak of the spectrum, when you hear a track lead mixed in the center, we hear, at the center! (I know if I make myself clear ...)

OVERALL OPINION

- I use them for 1 year.
- I like the sleek look, the knobs for bass and treble EQ, if I like them because it has helped me have a real control on the beaches of Frequency converter for a mix. A real monitoring to start off right, or rather the right ear! (That is 2 cents a rotten joke
- I listened to a lot of time for conventional speakers, but these are my first monitor speakers. I confess that I rediscovered some discs as the sound is clear and dynamic sound.
- Excellent quality \ price.
- It's not that I lacked experience, but an extension of 300 Euros to buy MSP5 (which deliver more bass!)

If I had the choice again, I'll do it with closed eyes, two small bombs over an impressive quality prices

OVERALL OPINION

they are very compact speakers for listening to hyper nearby and will give good results at very close range (98 dB at 1m).
To listen computer music / multimedia in a small home studio sound quality is very correct and accurate record.
They are somewhat expensive (365 Euros) but I am very happy with the sound.
