Value For Money :
Excellent
Yamaha's reputation already.
STudio use, mainly for mixing
SOUNDS
THE curve is not neutral, precisely. I found the treble typed Yam.
Clear sound, I know the faults of the top mix unforgiving medium.
I mix mainly on my Dynaudio BM5, but I pass all the time listening to the mix in the HS80, which are in another place. This is a very good basis for comparison.
I use it with a SUB, but 80 have sufficiently low compared to the HS 50 and can do without sub (depending on the room and your style
OVERALL OPINION
Use since 2010
J4ai tried the samsung (blah), the Mackies, the alesis (yuck), the Dynaudio BM5 (not the same budget) of yam MSP5 (good)
EC I like is the power of the HS80, and a high acute and somewhat aggressive.
THE least, vents at the back, it's boring if you do not have the necessary distance behind ..
Very good value for money but I saved and invested in the Dynaudio.
