I put 9 because no possibility to import samples.
UTILIZATION

We'll have to lean on a little for Russia to do what you want with it (especially without notions of synthesis), but almost everything is easy to see (but there need the doc even when c ' North is not a lead). It Yadji a comment that said bit prs the same thing, but I RPTE. I had a Nord Lead 2, NL3, a Virus B and C virus, and frankly the Modular G2 beats them all. Not because these sounds are "better" but because you can get the sounds of the 4 synths prcdemment deficits (well almost, the virus has a grain, a heaviness that just get the Clavia) with NMG2 and many others. There may be slender or FM sounds like NL3, the typical sound of virtual analog of NL2, sounds "fat" and deep bass (almost) like a virus, the moog sounds, etc. ...
There are plenty of sounds download on the internet, but you can of course make your own. The programming is not usually my thing, but I admit I take the game and I spend evenings entires just for fun.
Specific on good: Most of the "sounds" (I should say program) has 8 variations. A variant is not a simple evolution of the first sound. In fact, we must understand that every program is a chain of its own DIFFERENT modules (envelopes, oscillators, effects, filters, etc. ....) and by delegates from (the string) a synth part Entire. G2 and G2X is the same story
I am not 10 as some modules may be amlior (today). I think to much reverb on this point.
I also specific on those sounds for the most have the advantage of many highlights in a mix. I mean that the overall sound of the G2 (also lead and North) are very "sculpts" a does not bavouille frquences everywhere. A cluck of a, I have a VIRUS SNOW (I also had the B and C) that sounds heavy, fatty, sending death alone, but which tend to drown in a mix ( or crush if I push the volume to be heard). In any case this is my feeling, that does not love my m'empche Virus snow so far (but less than the same when g2!).
OVERALL OPINION
The X provides keyboard 5 octave either. But as a bonus, he is semi-ballast and therefore more enjoyable to play (especially since I drive with him the sounds of my North and wave my Nord Stage EX). So there is more room for the split areas. However, Clavia did not add points supplmentaires splits (well, those withthe LED front of the keyboard, since it is always possible to easily program up to 4 separate areas, but without the LED materializes ), this criticism is shared with the North Stage 88 compares the version "Compact".
The XLR mic input is up front, and therefore more accessible (and not need a gooseneck extension)
