The BA-115 is a whole amp transistors. It DLivre 100 W, this is - say a lot of volume, sagissant watt Ampeg! This is a pretty basic amp, equipped dun dun HP 38 cm tweeter.

Nevertheless it presents a number of functionalities:

The pan infrieur rear is suddenly allowing a choice of the place of legal or wedge position.
In addition to legalization three bands, it features a slecteur 5 presets giving all significantly diffrentes sound colors.
Of course it also offers the rglage dentre gain and output volume. Regarding the entries, there is a normal and attnue. Even with my bass is active, jOperation lentre normal.
He finally has dentres Cinch for connecting a CD or MP3 player, a drum bote, etc.

In terms of regrets:

The XLR output is not a full DI oprationnelle because dpendante directly rglage volume. Too bad.
The tweeter is neither adjustable nor dbrayable.
There is no control on the volume of the auxiliary signal (RCA jacks): ds that Lampl is lit when a turbine background, even with the gain and volume zero .dropoff window
No indicator for peak lentre.

But replaons things in context: the BA-115 na never intended be a high end amp. This is even the opposite! And in this price range, despite the few flaws that i numrs, it remains very interesting.

USE

It can hardly be simpler. At most it advisable to look in the manual What do the 5 positions slecteur. In my case, this is the 3, this is - say flat, without any correction (and ditto for lgaliseur).

For the rest, this is all in spite of lAmpeg tradition: plug and play (and enjoy).

The manual is the image of Lampl: Simple and compact, but sufficient.

SONORITS

I mainly played in two separate formations: an orchestra varieties / pop / rock and a trio of soul / rhythmnblues. In all cases jobtiens with this amp sound that suits me well and still very hot. It nest dailleurs reminiscent me Portaflex B15N javais that long ago, and i had the stupidity to sell (yes, really).

The BA-115 conjugated my Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass 5 string, Massure a beautiful sound presence and incredible as it may seem, even with a guitarist who plays very hard, a drummer who bangs like a deaf and a keyboard that gravely heat its speakers, I do not need to push a lot for this little Ampeg quon mentende well. Really amazing from this point of view.

For the rest, obviously, it remains a BA-115 SVT not all lamps years 70. This is far from perfect even when, but again, the quality is very in ter above what one is entitled to wait dun amp 350 euros.

NOTICE GLOBAL

Jai this amp for 8 months. I am the User daily (including 40 concerts and twenty rehearsals). No worries. Japprcie above all its simplicity: you plug has rings, and no need to take you the head.

I had a lot damplis in my life, including a Sunn Concert Bass, Fender Bassman, two Peavey an SVT 70s (which i s still btement sold), a B15N Two Ashdown, two Markbass, and also a Ampeg B100R. And I think jen forget.

At 350 euros, this amp is unbeatable, as long as you like of course the Ampeg grain. I lai same test when modern fashion, with such big boost slap on acute and large hollow in the mediums: he defends the same mchamment well, even if probably a Hartke or SWR will certainly be naturally comfortable in this type of exercise.

Note: i read a lot of testimonies on the tweeter whistling. I do not know if Ampeg eventually solve the problem on the most rcents models, but for me, even when the exercise slap, no whistle on mine .dropoff window But maybe i had a big stroke of luck.

Jenvisage now buying a Classic SVT 8x10 speaker cabinet with. But not only I will keep even when the BA-115 on the places too straits, but I say if CTAIT again, I would do it eyes closed.

Last thing: after a short passage clearly dcevant by Viet Nam, production Ampeg is dsormais in China (as for many other brands dailleurs, but many do not tell you forcment). I have to say objectively that the quality is. The Tolex holds good. No PPIN. My former B100R, yet manufactured in the USA by SLM had put less than 8 months show the first problem (minor but same problem when). Here, all is well.

I bought this amp used for $360 at Guitar Center in Massachusetts. I needed an amp that was powerful enough to play small shows and cheap enough for me to afford.

The amp has POWER. This amp really shakes the walls, even at low volume levels. I was surprized how loud 100watts actually was. This amp also has great tone. It didn't sound muddy like some other 15" amps I tried. The highs are crisp and the lows really thump. I also liked the tilt-back feature.

The only problem that I have had is hissing from the tweeter. Though, it really isn't much of a problem. When you're playing, you can't notice the hiss and it isn't all that loud unless you turn up the highs.

This amp really takes a beating. I dropped it from my mothers SUV. It fell about 3' and landed upside-down. The only damage was some denting at the metal renforement at one corner and a slight clack in the wood at that same corner. (It must have taken the brunt of the impact.) It still sounds perfect and i have never had a problem with it.

This amp is a great value, tough, and really stands out in its price range. i reccomend this amp to anyone who wants a nice small gig amp at very fair price.

I bought this amp used from a friend. But it was only about 3 months old. i payed $350 with isn't bad considering it's $450 new. I had a Peavey TKO-115 before this and is was crap. It didn't push anything and all it was good for was firewood.

I don't know why but i just like this amp because of its price and tone.

It lacks a good equalizer. It's only a three band equalizer whereas, my peavey had a 7-band. The style selector is quick and conveniant for switching styles. I like that is has two inputs for 0 Db and 15Db because i have active pickups on my bass and i sing through the other input for pract.

The condition and quality is good.

If you wanna play small clubs and stuff like that the BA-115 isn't a bad choice unless you have $$$ to spend.

I bought this amp used (almost brand new) from a friend for 250$ (how about a deal?).

This amp is awesome! It sounds absolutely amazing, and is louder than my friends 4x12 cabinet! The presets are terrific, and they actually change the sound, which my other amp failed to do. IT'S A BEAST!!! For example, the first gig i did with it i had it up at full volume for the first time, and it blew itself back into a wall it was so loud and powerful! I am dead serious, THIS IS A BEAST!!!!

Almost too much beast for me. This thing weighs 106 pounds (no kidding), and doesn't fit through my front door. It really is huge. But that's not too much of a sacrifice for the great sound it makes.

Rock solid construction. This amp didn't break after my 5' 10'' friend fell on it from 5 feet above (long story). Very good quality, looks good, tilts back for better sound delivery; really terrific!

The amp has better tone than anything else under 1000$; i swear on this thing. It is really terrific. The weight and size of it is annoying sometimes, but you won't believe how rewarding it is when you hear the sound it makes.

I bought it at the guitar center in Clackamas OR for $450 because i wanted a good amp for a good price and this is the one!!!

the amp has a wide variety of tones to choose from, the 5 posistion selector switch can get you a jazzy, a blusey, a slappy, a growly, and a classic rocky tone all in the turn of a knob. The tone i have is great, a mix between old Geezer Butler and John McVie. Old classics that forever changed the sound of the bass. another great thing is you can easily copy tone of idols if you want, i have gotten the sounds of Cliff Burton, Jason Newsted, Justin Chancellor, Geezer Butler, even Lemmy Kilmster(granted i used an overdrive pedal, but it sure sounded good) all the awesome sounds you could ever ask for.

The only downside i see is that it has a lot of white sound coming out of the speaker, but unlike other amps i have played, it is always the same volume, no matter how loud you are playing into it

Nice larger 15 inch speaker, about 2 feet up and across, very sturdy, tilt back feature for practicing. Knobs for EQ and volume are on top, not the front, so is input, so its harder to bump the knobs or step on the cord and unplug it. Great quality, i will always have it(even when im famous) great for small gigs and practicing.

Awesome amp, great sound, great quality, and for an extra $100 you can get a model with 16 digital effects. How Cool is that??? I recomend it to any classic rock or metal bassist. Oh yeah!! The model number, BA 115, look at it when you squint, it says BALLS, see!!!

I got this amp off of ebay. I had played a bunch of amps at local shops to decide what I wanted. I wanted a good practice amp - but one I could play small gigs with. I got the amp for $300.

It was cheap . For what you get - it is a great deal. It isn't too heavy, has great sound and enough features for what I wanted it for. Plus it is loud! The case is pretty rugged. Also - the speaker cab is a ported inclosure. Being an ex-guitar player - it thought that was a pretty cool feature. I was used to a speaker just mounted behind a piece of wood - not w/ a ported box just for the speaker.

The tweeter hisses. I read a couple articles about this amp and all of them said something about the tweeter being noisey. You can get the hiss fairly quiet by turning the high eq down - but I didn't want to sacrifice highs. So to fix this - I just unscrewed the tweeter mounting screws and disconnected the tweeter.

It is built pretty solid. I just wish it wasn't made from particle board. Side handles would have been nice too.

For what I needed - this was the best amp to get. It has plenty of power, great sound, and isn't too heavy. I wouldn't buy any other amp for what I needed.

UTILIZATION

A simple amp to use with many opportunities for rglages between five (not four) styles and 3-band equalizer (a 4-band is not luxury).
I use a passive bass and it does not m'empche to have a big well Submitted. A seven-band equalizer coupled as the "boss bass equa", it becomes formidable.

SOUNDS

Thanks to DIFFERENT "styles" on offer, I think that any musician can navigate. In my case, I play on style 4 by pushing the 6 trebles, 4 mediums and 7 bass, which gives me a good compromise between the finger and play the slap.
When you put the style in position 1, we obtain a more tufts which should dub the other music of this style. When you are in position 5, the sound is much clearer (and more than trebles mediums)

OVERALL OPINION

I use this amp for 2 years and I've never had one little Pb inconveignant: when playing in a group of madmen guitarists pushing their amps (as a lamp than done) donf, BA 115 is the limit but it is all the same road. Designed qu'ampeg damage has not the same amp with double the power. I do not know 220 watts, but all I know is that by incorporating a processor 16 effects (I think) so we can not use that time, I do gives not want to buy it. I remain trs retro regarding the amps to amps when the amplification and pedals, rack ... effects and too bad for objectify ...
Overall, the BA 115 is a good trs amp (ampeg is the same right!)

For the Jazz / Blues / Rock ... It is very well. Big sound.

With an Ibanez EDB605 (5 strings so) and an Aria TAB60 ... nothing to criticize.

The BA115 is a well thought out and amp trs trs balance. It is always trs prcis and allows unlimited play and comfortable. It is quite solid without being standard, correct weight and above it is possible to tilt in "kickback" ...

I played mostly at home, not much tested in groups at high volume.

It's a transistor amp while an output of 100 watts with a 15-inch HP. It has two instrument inputs (one normal and one least 15dB) between a CD, a headphone output and an XLR lineout in order to attack a mixer. Rglages are the volume, master, treble, mid, bass and provides a slecteur 5 prrglages of qualisation.

UTILIZATION

The setup is ultra-simple, plug and ring. No manual but is available on the ampeg site and useful to know the prrglages knob allowed by the style.

SOUNDS

I play it with a music man sterling 4-string, the sound should particulirement what I play blues, rock, jazz-rock. The knob style can change its very easy. Style 2 provides a dig in mdiums IDAL for blues and jazz rock, the bass is sounding and trs Submitted and treble are clear but not as pretty colors and at all aggressive. 4 provides a style that suits her best to rock as well mdium load the game mdiator is a marvel and you out of the mix even though saturated with 2 guitars.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a year in a group with two guitarists, a drummer and a singer. Despite its 100-watt power dlivre is sufficient. What is most enjoyable is that the sound you get DSIR is very easy thanks to the style and knob rglages trs simple. I have hp prfr 10 or 12 inches to have a little more serious and more prcis attack for slap and a little more power while the same for sc no. I tried also a 100 watt SWR trs cool-sounding, the Ampeg BA 210 Strange to sounding less I think, a Hughes and Kettner QC 412 ts that sounds good with good power and trs reasonable price but is less versatile with settings of qual inefficient and also the latest edition of the fender bassman 200 and w 2 * 10 trs that sounded good but that I MODEL 'I tried mett grsillements of the attack on low notes.
I think the price is justified for the quality of sound that is found in no other manufacturer I do it again and does the same choice to change for another Ampeg (b2re pregnant + 4 * 10)

But my recommendation is to target the 200 watts in the same ampeg SERIES is really excellent, not too expensive, and ... 200watts is comfortable. (Of both the 100 watts is a bit limited)

A further opinion beginner.
I hear the bass, I was looking for an amp that:
- Allow to have a good sound at a relatively low volume (apartment)
- Allow to have enough power to play from time to time with friends
- No vale Cheap
- Has a super mouth
- Has auxiliary inputs (for connecting to various tips, drum machine, Macintosh etc. ..)

The BA115 has all these qualities, I had less than 300 euros delivered to DV247, the sound is the hair, even at low volume (ok, the entries are rotten to ...).

The shot of the tweeter that whistles I read everywhere is largely exaggerated. It is true that this tweeter whistles, but just down the treble within 5 to make it go away without the sound it is dramatically affected. At worst simply unplug it.

Its only defect is relatively large (15 inch force) and weighs a dead donkey (30 kgs)

I feel that the criticisms that are made to this amp is relatively unfair. The BA115 is clearly a personal amplifier designed primarily to play at home and / or small group (the auxiliary jacks are the best example). For specialists there is plenty to do in the Ampeg line.

Usually people that are intended for beginner amps (me) end up with low-end devices with a toy look .. and certainly a lower label of a hundred euros. Especially we normally choose between the power that would play with friends on occasion, or no power to prevent the neighbors fired without warning.

The BA115 a more exciting alternative that works well, which qualitatively has little to do (which has power when needed but works extremely well at low volume), which is built like a tank and has a mouth of hell.

The only limit is that it takes a little space (it is a matching stool practical enough to play).

In short I would do without hesitation that choice (or perhaps the day the question arises of the choice, would I become a rock star in which case I will opt for a larger / powerful)
