MAC OS and recognizing Roland JunoG keyboard

Problem:

New Mac 10.5 os software and computer is macpro. Have Roland juno-g keyboard. Am plugging in by usb port. Unable to get it (keyboard) to be recognized by mac garageband software or the machine. Not sure if anyone has experience. Could just be a switch off the keyboard but not sure.

Any thoughts anyone?
