TopicPosted on 07/10/2006 at 05:18:43New problem with Mbox
Earlier today i was recording vocals with 2 different condenser microphones, which i had to give phantom power of course.
And then after changing microphone to the other one.. i had a noise coming in on the track, a signal. So i wondered if it were the computer fans which were generating the noise.. i recorded it and the waveform image of the audio was like a block, i mean normally it looks like hills and peaks.. but this was a block, not only that, it didn't have as much sound as it should have when i listened to it.
So while i had the record enabled on that track.. i pulled out the XLR cable from the back of my mbox, the signal was still there, without any input.
At this point i started thinking if the circuitry had taken a vacation, and i got into a really bad mood. I tried to reboot a couple of times until my computer didn't start up my mbox any more.. sadly.
Anyone here with anything similar happened to them, or else your opinions will be gladly appreciated.. anything really!

Well at least you got yours to record, I've been through hell. Look at my post that I made earlier. I just got my mbox, i can hear clearly through my headphones, but when I push record on Pro Tools, it blinks as though it's recording, but nothing happens..... Can you help me? I wish I could help you, but you are far more advanced!
