Hello all of my beautiful punky babies,
Here I am doing just this: searching for a long, clean and powerful cymbal solution. The background:
I'm running Ableton 8 rewired to FL Studio 8 and Reason 4 on Vista and in the past have resorted to manipulating crash samples in Ableton, setting the sample quality to 'complex' to then elongate them. This, however, spreads the sample quality very thin and sounds more like a sound bite from [I]The Matrix[/I] than a passionate and drawn out break.
Passionate and drawn out break is definitely where I am heading. Fruity Loops' sweeps are great, perhaps someone knows a clean trick with them? Or perhaps there is some sample library I'm unfamiliar with? Or perhaps Ableton's effects library has a key to manipulating samples to end up with something more complex.
So, can any of you geniuses out there suggest any solutions for me?
