I own this mixer has 3 channels of mic preamps amazing (musical + + + and 90db gain).

whatsoever to the story of street-beyer Schoeps stereo or voice with MD21, or uptake of jazz from January to March microphones (included with MS ribbons ...), my dream is fulfilled.

autonomy is a strength that allows me to free myself from any outlet "weird" when I visit different places and varied.

I willingly married with a Marantz PMD 661 or SPDIF into my laptop on battery power.

soon it will be upstream of a video camera that I tested with its program to provide a digital image well framed.

otherwise strongly Christmas to see if by chance a 4Minx landed in my shoes! but that is another story ...

OVERALL OPINION

only complaint: not removing it sooner!

Mixy is like a white elephant with a gold tooth. It is a story of three mixer mic inputs, a stereo input for control monitoring, and outputs galore (AES, SPDIF optical and copper, balanced analog and headphone).
Possibility of filtering mic, mastering M / O, stereo link, etc.. The possibilities are incredible beast next to its weight and its size (thank you for my back).
The microphone input gain is adjustable via menu and can reach 90dB total gain (not a typo). The preamp outputs can be recovered separately.
Mixer reporting also means typical wiring of these products. Entries are XLR-3, the output is analog stereo XLR-5. The direct outputs are AES and Hirose (hello nightmare to wire these connectors!). It has the ability to power two HF.
I have not done any testing of battery life, but I realized there is little a session making its six hours without worry, and I was apparently far from the fuel.

UTILIZATION

The grip for a professional accustomed to this kind of equipment does not require more than half an hour. The manual is clear, and even not without humor.
One might think that the fact that much of the adjustments are made by menu is disabled but the tree is well made and easy to remember, and it helps to have all front panel controls, which is very Practice report.

SOUNDS

I have not much explored the possibilities of converting, I will publish in some time. But it sounds very good for the few tests I made.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for two weeks. I used mixers SQN, Sound Devices, Audio Development and EAA Micromix. Mixy is clearly the level of the latter, ie well above the others. More versatile than the SQN who does not like high levels (too sensitive), thinner than the Sound Device, quieter than AD. The preamps are really excellent. I can use for recordings of acoustic music with no problems (except the astonishment of the musicians).

I put so much time to choose I know I would do the same choice. I was looking for a Micromix at baseline (occasion), but I do not regret it.

Well, it's an investment, but the price is forgotten ... It's upscale, the kind which does not change every six months.
