A new editor for Allen & Heath GLD mixers

The Allen & Heath GLD Editor simulates a GUI of the mixer surface and offers multiple information panels simultaneously on your Mac or PC computer, using TCP/IP or WiFi connection. Ethernet or wireless communication allows for simultaneous work on both the Editor and the GLD mixer and it is possible to connect up to 16 devices to a GLD system, wether they are multiple computers running the Editor or/and multiple iPads running the GLD Remote app. 

The editor offers both online and offline operating modes. Users can then prepare a channel plot and surface layout before the show, and even edit a Show file before transferring it to a USB key to load into a GLD mixer at the venue.

In Online mode, the Editor can connect either as a master (uploading current settings to the mixer) or slave (downloading the current mixer settings).

Just like the iLive Editor software, GLD Editor allows users to configure show settings and apply changes to existing shows online or offline. Changes can be saved and uploaded for later use.

The main Surface view provides quick mixing functions, while screen navigation keys open up a new window that replicates the GLD touch screen surface. Processing views, meters, FX control, I/O patch, quick channel strip labeling, access to memories and preferences are also available, along with a navigation tab by layer/bank or channel type, which allows for quick channel select and makes the GLD Editor suitable for Windows tablets and netbooks with low resolutions.

The GLD Editor is available as part as the new GLD v1.3 firmware update, which also includes added functionality (trim groups, output channels available as sources in the patch-bay for input channels and External input on mix channels). The update can be downloaded for free from www.allen-heath.com.
