Error message with projectmix

I have been using a project mix to record in to cubase on a macbook pro. I have been getting a random message on cubase that says to 'many tracks recording' and recording stops. At first i thought it was due to using cubase SL3 on the mac but i waited for the update to cubase studio 4 and i have the same problem. Im now starting to think its the project mix thats the problem. I am also using a behringer ultragain to add an extra 8 inputs to the console.

Has anyone else had any problems like this, or can anyone shed any light on it?????
