UTILIZATION

For those who use a prsonus 16 or 24 April 2 April 2.

The console does not seem to have suffered much inevitable compromises quality. From all evidence it was not designed for "Grand Touring". But there is not his vocation. Some minds sorrow regret the absence of motorized faders, but believe me at this price it's a choice of reasons.

The preamps are in a good average, but not transcendent qualities enough for a lot of situations. We will have to be careful in the choice of microphones! The brightness will be highlighted too ..
The Eq is also a good average, they are relatively accurate. The compressors are embedded enough and good levels. However the Gates are a bit ho hum. As with virtually all digital consoles below a certain range ..

I use the console recently PreSonus StudioLive 24/4/2, and I must say that initially it seems rather complicated, but in the end thanks to the software that provides with Presonus (universal control), it is simple phenomenal if you use a computer to control almost all functions. I purchased the Presonus Studio Live 24.4 to eliminate outboard gear and have all the onboard compression, eq’s etc. Oh yea 24 ch recording! Easy to use and built well. Plan on buying a $450 L and M case to protect this puppy. I have already tweaked and recorded with this thing in less than 4 hours. I just need a crossover and feedback destroyers now! Effects on board sound good too although limited to reverbs and delays.


UTILIZATION

The Presonus Studio Live 24.4 is a great sounding console, clean but not sterile sounding. The processing power is great. Compression, gating and eq on all the channels including the buses. Very easy to learn and get around on. Wish it had a way for routing the reverb to the monitors.

SOUNDS

Mutes on the aux masters would be nice to cut reverbs between songs. Also the current firmware (v1.0 build 166) has at least one bug that I have found. Build 165 had a couple. Tech support is very slow to respond, that disappointed me I like good customer service.

OVERALL OPINION

The size, it is deeper than our old mixer but about half the width. Once it is setup, it is as simple to operate as an analog mixer. It looks intimidating, all the buttons, but it is very straight forward to use. Add bonus: it is quite pretty when it is powered on. I would highly recommend this mixer to any one looking for a high quality mixer. But the price may steer you away, there are a lot of other mixers out that can do what this one can do for a much cheaper price. You will have to test the market to see what all there is out there but you will find something similar if you arent willing to fish out the money for the Presonus Studio Live 24.4.

It's so easy to use that one wonders why there is almost a textbook. The latter is also very well done. If we compare with those of Tascam (a nightmare), Yamaha, there is no comparison. Everything is explained fully and immediately usable.

The famous "Fat Channel" is a killer, and for those who, like me, pulling his own hair on a DM24 or another, it is disconcerting as it is simple to use. OVERALL OPINION

Received yesterday morning, I immediately installed and tested a few hours (I spent part of the night) after putting the drivers up to date. Having had several tables and a 01V analog and DM24, I think I found one I was looking for. Affordable, professional, comprehensive. Of course, it remains to show its durability and resistance to weather and heavy use, but the device seems designed to last.

In my home studio "improved", it will replace my Motu advantageously for recording. However, it is obvious that if it seems perfect for live applications, I prefer to mix my studio and my SSL Duende TC Powercore.

Of simplicity is stunning I opened the manual to know how to have a turn at the headphone output with the "fate" to each.

Console is transparent, the Equal Music remains, effective compressor, gate, too. The Pramper respect the signal, not hyper silent if you push the gain a lot (I compare Focusrite red1 ...).
The conversion is correct, very good dynamic. The sound is good even if gnral the lack of heat little ct "analog" (but this is not the point ...).
I would say that the weakness lies in multi effects. At reverbs we feel a sort of rebound "Left Right", with a little mtallique ct (not empty correct, regardless of Settings, even if the effects bnficient also the fat channel).

I use it for a week and this is sufficient for mastery of all the beast.
It shows at once its capabilities, we feel now its full potential.
The ratio quality price is excellent I think. Everything you need is l. .. to the scene as the studio (home studio).
