Is an expander format Rack 2 units.
The polyphony is 64 notes for 256 Sons divided into internal and preset bank.
The machine has its own effects of high order. We may assign its effects in audio or voice
another. The polyphony is extensible through maps added. This will turn the expander
XG compatible, or put a card or sound effect Harmonizer vintage. There are two different slots provided
this effect.
The unit has 4 independent output, a stereo input you can record up to 4MB of sample, this
Yamaha calls a clip kit. Storage is available on compact flash card, I put a 64MB
I formatted it with no problem. There are two different midi A & B and thru-out the usual

UTILIZATION

The editing on this type of device is facilitated by navigation buttons. However this device with
functions Sample, Sequencer, Expander, arpeggiator, effects, navigation within the edition is
a little headache. You can edit on a Mac or PC with software provided more summary, for my part I
preferred Emagic SoundDiver which is a publisher / librarian universal ...
The manual is quite clear enough for a good grip.

SOUNDS

On the sound, the sounds are amazing and far surpasses my other expander Yamaha
MU100R. On the banks A & B will contain all the presets standard piano, guitar, bass, brass and
Others are like bein made very realistic, and bank C sounds more techno-oriented and end with
sounds more bizarre than each other, but that sound powerful.
Whether one is in sequence mode computer performance mode or full mode which is the polyphony
Voice mode, the sound mind-blowing.
Arpeggiator mode will instead mode Voice with arpeggios more crazy than the others which
some by playing a rhythm complete with 1 finger ...

OVERALL OPINION

It has been over 6 months that I have the expander, and I do not regret at all that investment.
I had quite a mark as Oberheim expander, Emu, Korg, Yamaha, Roland, Alesis, this one I
been waiting a long time, I also sold several and have kept only the Korg X5DR, old
Keyboard Roland D20, an EMU sampler and a Yamaha A5000 sampler.
The rest of my sounds are biased as the synth Halion, FM7, battery and Reason ...
I even have the idea of me buying another CS6R JV1080 or in addition to removing the Korg and
Yamaha sampler unless I use Halion
