[NAMM] The Korg Kaoss in a DJ controller

Korg debuts at NAMM 2015 a new two-channel DJ controller and audio interface in the Kaoss series.

The Kaoss DJ is a fully-featured MIDI DJ controller optimized for use with the Serato DJ Intro software on Mac and PC (available for free download). It includes a USB audio interface and can works as a standalone 2-channel mixer. It also feature a crossfader, two touch jogs, large level meters, loop, sync, cue and more.

The innovation here is the integration of the famous Korg Kaoss Pad at the center of the device, with 120 built-in effects and synths from the Kaossilator. You’ll control them with the touch pads and Korg offers multiple functions that allow for creating complex operations and sounds: FX Release automatically adds a delay when you remove your finger from the pad, Hold automatically detects the beat and syncs the effect, and Scale/Key allows for playing the song in tune.

Connectors on the new Korg Kaoss DJ include two RCA audio inputs, a 1/4” mic input, RCA audio output, 1/4” headphone output, USB type B port with MIDI support that also powers the device. Audio resolution is 24-bit / 44.1 or 48 kHz.

Dimensions: 307 × 158 × 42mm

Weight: 730g

The Kaoss DJ is expected at the end of February for the price of 349 €. Details are online at www.korg.com.
