Did you try many other models before getting this one?

With Serato Vinyl and CDJ, Traktor Scratch Pro Vinyl and CDJ, Xone 4D, Kontrol X1

What thing do you like most/least about it?

More:
- The quality of finish: knobs and faders ultra comfortable, the jog that starts to resemble something (compared to the Xone 4D for example) with a scratch more than satisfactory.
- Excellent ergonomics, everything is the right place, and the controller is very readable (you can access various functions without the drawbacks).
- Seamless integration with Traktor PRO S4, just a pure joy to use.
- Weight: despite its impressive size, the beast is quite small, surprising ...
- Finally, car navigation that really helps to let the trackpad (or mouse) in the closet

Less:
- A Knob for gain instead of a knob just rather annoying to know where one is the noise level, especially since that the meter did not super accurate. But pressing the button allows instant reset of winning.
- The thickness of the controller requires almost to the purchase of flight case, the device is found at very low side of turntables or CD.
- Despite the fact that it is powered by 220V it can not be used as a mixer simple as connecting it by USB, so that to mix with conventional turntables one is forced to connect it to pc even if not using the software (unlike the Xone).

What is your opinion about the value for the price?

For a machine of this level comes with a software as comprehensive.

Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...

Difficult to speak so fast, but I think so, unless we spell Allen & Heath Xone 5D also an intuitive and pleasant to handle than the S4 Kontrol, Quality Sound A & H premium.

I hardly decided between NS7 and the S4 and J have finally opted for the s4. I have therefore taken over two days ago. J had the opportunity to try some "toy" which had a tendency am away from that system to get closer to the trad ... (Pioneer CDJ etc ...)
What I love most ... Actually everything is very well thought the grip is very fast and we get a satisfactory outcome of the first hours. The product looks good even though the NS7 is double in size and gives an impression of great strength on the s4 wins by its levity (for mobile) and of course the famous traktor and its multitude of effects. I confess that I feared the lack of space to work for the size of the console but J was finally caught in the right direction .. everything is clear and it was instead necessary to avoid catching the fader or cross.
The least ... I n not really see yet. j expects to test in the club potato output of the soundcard (RCA output) I will tell you more of that will be done.

value for money ... AC is good in the final rounds but c is the price to pay to actually have fun without regret our cdj ... after the system has finally look n're not so expensive option was to look for a 2 CDJ 1000 + DJM 800 is still largely a winner with this system and with additional opportunities.

I think I will ever be this choice so although I confess that ns7 seduces me a lot. my style music playing in clubs (prog house) helped me decide my ... the ns7 being in my opinion focuses more on hip hop and rnb scratch ... the machine is still seductive and pleasing ...

That is for the undecided as I have j j be the hope it will help a little ...

No, I was on CD players (CDJ-800 MK2)

What I like most:
- Ease of use, even if our imagination is pushed to its limits so there are opportunities
- The quality of the knobs
- Audio quality
- The integrated effect
- The jog very pleasant to use

What I like least:
- The faders a bit short (but that's quibbling)

* What is your opinion about the value for the price?

I think it's an excellent value for money. The build quality is very good. There is not much competition in the sector (except the denon and the american dj), but I think it will come. Native hit hard for once, I think it kind of all-in-one is really the future, there's has seen the number of DJs who are on solutions serato / traktor, potential customers what kind of machines.

I still step back and answer this question, I crossed a little not on a whim, having a little tired of having to burn cd, this solution turned out great. To see how the future will evolve in the market!

So here I start

I go to use an M-Audio Xponent nearly three years now and there at first glance I really liked the S4 on paper. So I bought the beast (not without difficulty to the views of the availability of the beast).

I finally unpacked and then wow it's amazing the difference in quality despite its relatively light weight machine does not ring hollow and inspires confidence. Nothing's changed at all plastic Xponent. The top two decks while brushed metal it does. I was very scared of something that I thought I would miss, and yes the console from M-Audio has all of his pots and backlit button that does not break the NI. In retrospect I change my mind because in the settings can make the buttons slightly lit which is very convenient. Parcontre the knob them are good but too bad it does not matter.

In use I loved it. The set is super responsive and intuitive rather I just have to get used (3 year torq this brand). The audio engine traktor is pretty impressive (to my taste) I not only had great effects, well then I'm spoiled the possibility of having up to 6 simultaneous which foot (good 6 rough but it quickly becomes c is practical). The interface has the merit of traktor she fit the screen resolution which is not the case then torq hello screen fonts very smooth and readable in high resolution. Small flat for my taste you can not change the colors of the interface software which would have been nice (for me LOL)

That's basically what I can say about my first steps with this kontrol s4 that I think will stay with me long hi hi

So I use the controller for almost 19 days.
I had tried any model before buying it, I had a conventional DJM 700 + CDJ 400 and I went to the controllers by offering me traktor Kontrol S4.

What I like most: - simplicity, great potential, decks for the samples (great for Rebeat these tracks), the jogs, similar to cdj, all the knobs and faders that are very good qualities and pleasant to touch. I also like the new version of traktor foune with the controller.

What I like least: the equalizers BISARRE that react to my taste. To me, when you increase the bass of music, the software tends to decrease the treble and midrange rather than increase the bass ... I guess I have tested on my big speakers to confirm this but it's a little resentment that I have.
Otherwise it's really all I can blame him ...

Value for money: Very good, I spend less expensive than platinum for my system + tables while the possibilities are much more massive.
With experience, yes I referrer choice ...

it's been a month since I mix on this excellent machine.
I look forward to my next live.

Pros:
- Overall quality of the machine (very good and very pleasant to use)
- Integration with traktor S4 (no need for mouse or trackpad)
- The onboard sound very good
- The integration and use of ergonomic effects
- Rapid appropriation, natural positioning of controls within hours it is super fun.
- Advanced features and intelligent (eg copy and paste between sample deck)
- Samples and especially the loop recorder very interesting feature, I love
- The pleasant and super jogs reagents
- The new protocol (NHL instead of noon)
- The look great! hehe
Cons:
- The gain knobs
- Not to kill the equalizer
- 4 cue mode only sample
A remake, for that price with the integrated software and product quality, without hesitation.
