I can not do without, I manage all my music with Itunes and rekordbox are perfectly integrated. I started early with memory sticks but I quickly drop since 8am to charge my 3500 title. I finally try again with an external hard drive and it's perfect, 20 minutes to load, update the playlist in 2 minutes!

Still not as easy and convenient as itunes, but as it syncs it's perfect.

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Alas, not compatible to test live with CDJ 850, I can not wait to test my future cdj 900 NXS. Otherwise I manage everything with a Macbook Pro and it works !!

I received this software when acquiring my CDJ 350 and I am fully satisfied.

Rekordbox is taken in hand and simply makes it easy to organize your playlist on pc tablet or smartphone and also allows particular color codes for different devices for more complex boards.

My use is: organized my library, creates harmonic sets casting an eye on the key or with a smart playlist (thanks to DeeGSA for his tutorial).

From a performance point of view nothing to say on several config is very fluid,

I use Rekordbox since almost the beginning.
This tool will allow you to manage your library as a finely iTunes (or Traktor, Serato).
Are you going to manage your playlists with many parameters such as smart playlists (which are updated dynamically with the criteria) but also and especially to place your CUE and other loops on your songs. (An iOS version is available for iPhone)
I use Rekordbox stand alone on Macbook Pro to manage my library and then connected on a network governed CDJ 2000 DJM 900 with a mini switch 100 base T. The link function hugely multiplies the tool and do not miss it if it is equipped with CDJ 900 or 2000!

Installation on Macbook Pro could not be more simple.
Function verifies that there is no shift in the launch (if you are connected to the web).

The analysis is not longer than the other tools of its kind.
No crash in delivery when rekordbox is "linké" with a control network.

OVERALL OPINION

For 2 ½ years.
I'm old school training on SL 1200 and is not misused V DJ and Traktor in HID.
The big plus of this tool in my eyes: use networking with CDJ 2000 (or 900) and a DJM 900 table.
Instead of using keys or hard drive, the big advantage is that you connect your laptop to your Rekordbox governed (CDJ and DJM being networked with a mini hub).
Here you will get the power of research with computer, then send your tracks on the plate of your choice. Or there is very strong with a DJM 900 is that you can pre-listen to a song played on Rekordbox from the DJM 900 without sending it on a plate: fully integrated!
It is much more ergonomic evening, and provides access to its entire library, almost impossible with keys.
What I particularly like with rekordbox is that it reconciles the best of two worlds: the power of management and research through the computer, while taking advantage of ergonomics, quality audio components a "classic" board.

Rekordbox is software supplied with the CDJ 2000 (free), it allows:

- To import your music, have them analyzed (BPM & Waveform) to assign cover art to modify their information (artist, year, album ...), them down by number of stars.

- Create playlists his (ex: house, hardstyle, r & b, whatever you like), creating in advance its cue hot, hot loop.
