- Maple neck, "C", screwed in four points
- 24 frets
- Two microphones: a guy in middle and Precision Bass Jazz Bass type bridge.
- Low passive
- Three knobs: volume and tone micro.
UTILIZATION
The bass is light and very good ergonomics. Once taken in hand, one is immediately comfortable with. Sitting or standing, it plays very easily.
All playing techniques can be executed easily. I play many fingers, but the slap is optimal comfort.
The highlight of this bass is its sleeve! That's what I immediately marked on this bass: the neck is thin, light and very pleasant to hold. In addition, the varnish on the back of the handle allows for left hand movements, slides, etc. without a hitch.
With two volumes and a tone, the adjustment possibilities are not endless .. But this is not a problem for me ..
With both pickups thoroughly, already has a very good sound, while still playing with the volume pot tone to strike a balance between the two ..
At such a price and is the only bass that I know of that has such a sound! Other bass for beginners, and in the same price range, are extremely cheap ... After several years of low behind me and even with new stuff, I still play it and she is sometimes second-lowest in concert or in studio.
SOUNDS
It is a low-driven "rock" and all styles can be played with (mine went through blues, jazz and some metal ..). At the time I was playing in a funk-rock type Red Hot Chili Peppers / Rage Against The Machine, with much finger-picking and slapping. It is perfect for that!
We can get all the sounds between the sound "type Precision Bass" and "Jazz Bass type" corresponding to the two microphones .. Personally, I almost did not play with the microphone Precision (today I do not like the sounds guys "Jazz Bass" too modern .. .. I prefer a good old growl of Precision).
I played with a Fender BXR60; unpretentious good amp though.
OVERALL OPINION
This is my first bass, so it has five or six years .. I had tested before any other model except the Ibanez for my father, which I started. But later, I took the time to compare it with other models of this range, and she finally comes out with the palm of the best!
See all forums on the net - French and foreign - and we can not stop singing praises about it.
I think even able to make a "good coffee". And this, by changing the pickups. Indeed, despite the fact that this is an excellent bass for beginners, it can not compete with a Fender or any other good instrument. But I think the pickups are what make the "cheap" in this low .. I therefore intend to change them by Seymour Duncan Jazz Bass, replacing a Musicman.
I also lets you link a possessor of this low, having changed the pickups: http://www.onlybass.com/html/test-cort.html
To summarize, this is the best bass in its class.
