I have version Vintage White pickguard with celluloid, a marvel. The neck is fairly close to a Jazz Bass but with a pitch of 30, it's easier to play. The light is nice drawing, we are not obliged to tread to get to play properly. I mounted with Flawound GHS.
I put 9 because there is no gig bag or anything and, because the design is specific, I was obliged to order the box to 185 €! Moreover, this case leaves little hairs on the instrument ... annoying to remove.

UTILIZATION

The handle is very nice but the back is painted. It really gets me going but everyone will not like. It's like that for the whole series "Classic" Fender.

The finish is beautiful, flawless. Access to the 19 frets is good, but I do not understand this issue from a low ... I do not play beyond the 17th fret.
The balance could be better, the head leans slightly. It's part of the charm of this low, it is not designed to be as this, the more it but the goal is to revive the Mustang Bass.

The sound is very good, fairly close to a Precision (Precision is a microphone) but less pronounced. A huge fishing for such a small instrument. Passive bass, and you plug you play.

SOUNDS

I play rock and pop, a style in which she is comfortable.

The sound palette is not very wide (only one microphone position) but with the tone and volume, there is a way to be satisfied.
Max Tone: good for the crystalline rock.
Min tone: very muffled, blues, jazz.

I played with a Hartke A70 70 watt and a compressor T-Rex Comp-Nova. All sounded good with the Hofner 500 / 1, it goes well with the Mustang.

OVERALL OPINION

I've had it yesterday and I love it.

I have not tried the other model before. I wanted this bass and I have.

I like his personality, ease of play I would have liked a gig bag would have been a considerable economy.

UTILIZATION

handle very pleasant to play even for my large hands, I'm playing guitar at the base, but I embarked in a band or I'm a bass player, voila!

Personally, I fell in love.
Sit down, standing, kneeling, jumping across it holds its position without difficulty. Access to all the strings is done without any complications, I'm ops reach all the frets, the agreements are easily (yes!).

The sound is just perfect! I sort of box, branch and voila! Two buttons, a few distortion pedals and presto! I'm good to play whatever I want!

Beware of Drop D. .. it sounds soft, that's why I give it a 9. But it does not matter.

SOUNDS

I am not wrong in Punk, Rock, Blues a bit in the Pop / Trip-Hop and it makes them all.
Playing with volume and tone, it was a sound that passes easily from crystalline or snapping means almost all the movements of two hands was a big round sound style trip-hop (also playing with both the amplifier! ).
I was not expecting that when I tried it. A small bass with a big sound!

I play a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb, POG2, Knock-out, Big Muff PI + tone wicker, DOD Preamp / Distortion 250 and a distortion of Voodoo lab.
Small set-up guitar that does everything I want with Guitar and bass!
I'll probably add a TV Fifteen to my set-up by summer 2011.

OVERALL OPINION

4days since I use and I have spent many hours playing, toured all the sounds that I normally use with my Jaguar HH POG2 and my ... no surprise, it was a real bass sounds!
Soon a band practice, it will be tested to its full potential.

I tried several bass before falling in love! Pbass, Jazz Bass (Mexican and American), G & L etc.. but none really appealed to me before falling on the Mustang!

I love his look, his sound, his feeling! Its smallness is a great advantage for me! What I like least? I do not know ... I'm in love!

All she has to offer for $ 750 Canadian! It's beautiful. Made in Japan versus Pbass done in Mexico for $ 900 ... The quality is obvious!
