USE

The handle is a little round but a great ease of play, c is what made me choose this low
sturdy construction, the handle has never boug in 3 years
handle so screwed means access to acute
correct weight, ergonomic shape, this bass is beautiful, it was said to me dej in concert

SONORITS

The sound was pretty zarbe, lack of body, artificial sharp and dry
I have therefore changed the micro bridge by a micro ATK magnet nodyme home bassculture.de
and it's downright another bass with a sound interesting (thud and bold, aggressive with nice treble harmonics, growl, and then round and rapid mixing with the neck pickup)
I recommend without hesitation that change (135)
we can change the op amp 2 of electronics, they are removable and with good low power op amp (TLE2022 in my case), the sound is a little more transparency and weight
I put the note 10 but with the new pickups and Modified prampli

NOTICE GLOBAL

Here is a bass that I have chosen to keep, for the quality and personality of the sound that it produces (c is the atk300 with more versatility: micro serious + lower part of the body mahogany)

Manufacturing Korea in July 2001 (most likely in the Cort factory).
Mahogany body + frène table, handle and maple fingerboard.
Electronics 3 band + 5 position selector to handle two microphones whose humbucker.
Nothing special except for the traditional hardware specific to this series of low I personally find less attractive than the slightly rounded previous version and is currently listed on the Indonesian giant easel.

UTILIZATION

Broad handle (42 mm at the nut and 56 to the 12th), but not too thick.
Very easy if you have no hands too small.
The handle 24 cases but access to the latest two cases is not the easiest. The key is longer than the 90's models but the body seems to be the same shape.
The selector allows quick access to 5 different but close enough to the character sounds.

Is also the owner of a 1999 ATK 300 has an ash body and a maple top I could make the comparison. Especially since after the serial number has ATK300 I seems you been assembled in Korea (No. beginning with FC) so quality is equivalent.

SOUNDS

As I've always been a little frustrated the lack of versatility of ATK300 due to configuration 1 single microphone I always wanted to add a microphone, but it has ATK400 micro and small difference in the violin which nicely complement the ATK300.

We find the exact same hand in the attacks (or even aggressive can) but with low mids a little more pronounced and may be less accurate.

I quickly changed the simple side handle for a more balanced one Crel JB41 sound.
The neck pickup of origin tended to add the aggressive side in excess in acute (I mounted not more on an old copy of jazz bass at which it goes rather well).

This change realize the ATK400 versatile for true micro single neck position is really closer to a sound PB, the neck position + winding side of the bridge humbucker also benefits from this change with a sound that approximates the JB (but with balls). The other three remain unchanged and keeps the potato humbucker especially when the two coils are in parallel with a very very close to a Musicman sound.

Electronics filled his role well although I find the frequency of the low EQ a bit high, which is not very important to me because I usually do not use corrections.

OVERALL OPINION

I knew the ergonomics and the violin ATK300 so I was not surprised that side.
Wholesale + in terms of versatility compared to ATK300 to ogle to her typed PB or JB for a small change in microphone, a true Swiss army knife as can the G & L or musicman with HS or HH config.

Price or are the Korean ATK (at around 400 €) is a very good investment even with the change of micro and a serious alternative to the G & L Tribute to even entry level Musicman (sterling or SUB).

Manufacturing classified in the fender family / music man. Big year alder body (mahogany I think on the ATK 700), handle large stocky, not too big mcaniques prcises, triple coil, single coil in a serious and active electronic. Possibility to block the strings from the bridge or bridges compltement through the body. Handle with key saddle and 24 jumbo frets plutt. Jack intgre well on the side of the lower (stronger than on the fender for example). Plastic nut a little cheap but fortunately ended well.
Rglages: volume, bass, mdiums, acute slecteur 5 positions for coupling DIFFERENT microphones.
Matt varnish and soft on the back of the neck (dtendez-vous. ..). Gloss lacquer on the body (mmhhh. ..) and a standard ... easel all chrome and shiny solid!
Finish trs treats that gives the impression of value for money. Good violin except possibly be a plane of the handle so-so in boxes Most recent internship (at least on my bass, some boxes curl more than others).
Pretty low I think.

UTILIZATION

The neck is absolutely great! Plump, but not too much, and especially easy to play. The frets are well finished on the edge of the handle and do not hurt your fingers. CHAC is acute in boxes made even if, as dj said, some of the eight boxes dernires curl a little.
Play "dry" (no amp), bass gives a good impression. It rsons rap. It Ragit quickly and gives a feeling of rigidity of solids is found in the vibration of the strings. SOUNDS

I rcapitule: 3 Tone correcting a single microphone, a microphone and a double 5-way switch -> You can reach a standard range of the Different. Sounds sail in an area ... indescribable!
The slecteur 5 positions:

ATK has it really well. Always sound "like a little ...". This is certainly the fruit of that original design that is not a copy. Ms. Tone with correcting it comes to change the sound that I find hard rsons. Giving more serious, for example, are not going to add roundness. It gives the impression plutt to increase the output level of the tufted mdiums and treble.
I had dj 3 ATK. The dernire, I keep it, because if I sell, I'll buy it back 6 months later! In fact, to be honnte, I do not like the sounds and the texture of the ATK. Plutt quickly one tires of his sound, as numerous as they are. But I find it enjoyable to play and watch trs! It was for the Rasht I always ...
I have long believed that I could get something great reinforcement pedals, pramplis, compressors ... but since I buy a Fender Precision amricaine (CHRE much, it is true) I do not play in a group with the Ibanez. I think the sound is sluggish as a group. It's really the bass showcase idalie. Good looks, his sduisant at first. Worse over time, we realize that a good low passive simple and well built supports better the sound of the guitar. We realize also that the old low-Integrates best with the sound of the bass drum, that does not sound shrill Fawn Black & Decker, that are not serious deafening yet well rounded and well-Submitted ... In short, ATK is a SHIT ELECTRONICS! Call a spade ... a cat!
The pickups should not be terrible either. They have at least MRIT not make too much background noise. During the recordings I've done the home and in groups, I alternated between the Ibanez and Fender. At the cost you, there's no photo: the best Fender spring mix, the sound is more frank, a "breathe" more.

OVERALL OPINION

Overall, I would say this is extremely low "charming" and a little tape - l'oeil. It is super well built and has no major gaps if this may be ... sound harsh and wrong (lack of serious natural beautiful). Sounds good but as I slap in not doing with my band ...
I'm thinking to change the pickups and large liabilities output levels as the Fender. We will see what a given at the next property ... PERIOD
Report qualitprix trs honnte as this bass is at least as well made a Music Man SUB rating more than twice that.
In fact, must love the sound ... If anyone has found a configuration (amp, compressor, drive ...) in which this bass sounds great, it m'crive! I would love to finally be able to sound this bass!
