MGR/Rhyd Harris

As a guitarist in a band that needed a bass player, (and guess who got the job) I didn't want to spend much on a first bass.
I wanted a trusted manufacturer and a good looking instrument.
The guys at Speed Music have always been honest with me (as far as I know!) and they also reccomended it.
It looks good, mine is in red. The neck is narrow, which for a new player of a six string player trying bass is easier. You don;t need hands like shovels to play this bass. The action is also pretty low, which again makes it easy to play.
A tone control and independant volume controls for both the neck/bridge pickups means that there's plenty of scope for any tone you want.
The body does show finger marks and smudges, so regular cleaning is required, if you like that sort of thing!
Active pickups would have been nice, but then it is a cheap model and for most of us mere mortals it not a big deal.
As you'd expect with Ibanez the build quality is excellent.
In summary I'd say as a first bass or for someone on a buget (like me) this bass is excellent it sounds, plays and feels like a much more expensive model. For the average bedroom player, or pub band bassist you can't get better for the money!
