    How:
After investigating on the internet and trying out at the showroom.
    Where:
    Wolverhampton Guitar Centre.
    Price:
    249 Pounds.

This is essentially a budget Bass. It is possible to purchase it on the internet for 210 pounds. I will not do this again however since the last time I did this the unit arrived with the varnish around the fixed joint cracked. Implying that it had been dropped at some stage! Also guitars vary in tone etc between models, especially at the lower end of the market. Best to buy the model you tried! I very much like the balance and feel of this unit. Also guitars vary in tone etc between models, especially at the lower end of the market. Best to buy the model you tried! I very much like the balance and feel of this unit. I am really a guitarist who has often to play the bass on the studio stuff when I can't contact the bassist in time! The same with the wretched drummer! This unit is simply quality. It doesn't feel or play like a cheap bass. It has active circuitry which provides a nice even tone across the strings and up the fret board. Solid ALder body, Maple Neck and Rosewood fret board. I remember when Mexican Standard Strat bodies were made of Basswood and the Alder was only available on the American Standard. I guess competition is good for consumers! I think that the gear is so good now, it really isn't worth buying the more expensive stuff unless you have made a hit single and have some money to burn! Real professionals may be able to extract more performance from the high end stuff, but with stuff this quality selling this cheap I think that nobody these days can complain!

Because It's active, the battery needs replacing. Also the bridge single coils is a little noisy. But its a single coils so it is to be expected. The next model up in the range has humbuckers. But at Gigs it doesn't matter and in the studio the noise is easily removed with plugins so why not save the bucks and enjoy the advantages of single coils?

The active circuitry has no off button. I assume that it switches off when the lead is unplugged.

Good woods used throughout as described above. Good fretwork on my unit. Nice action without any fret buzz. Good intonation. Was well set up by the shop. It has the feel of a much more expensive unit.

If you are in the market fot a high quality budget bass I think this would be hard to beat. Definitely check this out before you buy anything else. I would then be suprised if you went anywhere else.

my dad bought the bass in sydney for my birthday. its the 1st bass i have ever owned. i have had it for about a year now and i am still hearing good coments from my friends.

it is so smooth and light weight. the bass is also one of the most attractive bass's i have ever seen.

i hate having to change the battery but nothing a charger and 2 re-chargable batteries wont fix.

the neck is so solid but so verry accesable for my fingers. everything is eassy to get to while playing (a very important feature for a bassist)

my bass is only going to be replaced by a brand new one of its kind. i loved learning on it and i love even more jaming with the best guitar around

I bougth this bass at hermes music the price was great it cost me $280 dollars the regular price was more than $500 dollars, i bought this bass because i was going to remplace my old bass this one was the perfect choice.

I like alot the desing, also its weight it is very light also i like alot the sound and that you can change to diferent tones.

I dont like that you have to remplace the battery every 6 months but i think its worth it because the sound quality is very good.

its a very light bass, has 24 frets, the paint is very good, the neck is awsome it is an active bass.

I think this bass is very good and the price was very cheap i think that yamaha basses are very good.

The reason for the purchase was to replace my Squier Affinity P-bass (2001, Indonesia)which actually sounds quite good. However, the Squier had a neck problem. It never stayed in shape no matter how you adjust the truss. I regreted buying the Squier and sold it off.
In search of a new bass, I had my eyes on Yamahas after playing the RBX 260 (an entry which was replaced by RBX 270). It felt so comfortable. The guitar, for its price, is superbly built. The tuners, wood and finishing is top quality for this kind of money. I've compare it to other entry bass such as the Ibanez, Washburn and Epiphones which doesn't even come close to its built quality. That is why I made up my mind to go fo…

I got my bass from Yamaha Combo,Kuala Lumpur for RM1280, which is about US$330.
The RBX 370A is not a dissapointment at all. It is made in Taiwan and it comes with active P/J pickups and the same top quality and value. Beat this, it comes with a limited life time warranty. For this range?

The bass was setup properly right of the box. Intonation, action (nice height), neck and etc. All I have to do is just tune it and plug it in the amp (SWR Workingman 12)and enjoy. What luck! or is it pure quality.
The tone is another thing to boast about. For the money you pay, it is worth more. The broad range of tones can cover most bass styles. The tones sweeps from deep dark to bright jazzy.

The only complain is noise. The J pickup is a bit too noisy for my liking.

Can't beat the quality. The bolt-on neck sits perfectly on the body, the paint work is flawless, the strings sounds good, the neck is beautifully crafted with good fret work, tuners are smooth and the bass stays in tune.

The RBX 370A is a good sounding and good quality bass. If you're looking around for a bass around this price range, consider this bass.
I feel that Yamaha is really serious about its reputation and customers.

The noise is minor. I'll give it a 5.
