Multi-effect pedal digital tube preamp (1 x 12AX7). Robust metal housing for use live, with an expression pedal assignable to the volume or a parameter of any group effects. These groups are in the order since the guitar: a compressor / limiter, amp modeling, two-channel, a group of modulation effects / pitch (phaser, flanger, whammy, ...), a group delays, finally, in a group of reverb. The parameters of these effects are editable, but the global chaining is not editable. We also note the presence of a noise-gate, a wha-wha and a tuner. Finally, a simulator for HP is included to connect directly to the output of the pedal in the mixer, without going through an amp. ADC and DAC converters are 24 bits with sampling at 44.1 kHz.

Side connections, it has an input jack instrument 6.35 mono, two mono output jack 6.35 (left / mono and right), a digital output S / PDIF, a headphone jack (stereo 6.35), d a DIN plug for external power supply. Note the presence of an entry "jam-a-long" mini-jack for recording and the work of a short musical sequence (12 seconds or less, possibly slowed by a factor of 4 without change of tone) from a CD for example.

This machine has 100 banks, divided into 50 factory presets and 50 users.

UTILIZATION

Manuel clear allowing easy handling. The various parameters are easily editable, edit and save thanks to the presence of a well designed LED matrix (perhaps a little small, but it was necessary that the pedals keep a reasonable size). The bank number and the parameter values ​​are displayed on a large LCD display (green in photo), readable in a standing position.

SOUND QUALITY

The effects are generally effective and realistic. Amp modeling is diverse (12 types), clear sounds of a Fender Twin to extreme saturation of a Mesa Rectifier through the inevitable sound of a 70's Marshall amps. Note that the saturation level of the factory presets are often too high ... The modeling of acoustic guitar is in my opinion not very realistic, but the exercise is dangerous and no electric will never replace a real acoustic ...

Delays and reverbs are compelling. The phaser is good, I like less the flanger, but a matter of taste - and settings? Note again the excellent Whammy house, ranging from + 2 octaves - 6 octaves (or better than the original! The "Dive Bomb" the Whammy reissue does not come down to 4 - 3 octaves).

OVERALL OPINION

Bought new 4790 francs (730 euros) in 1999, an excellent quality / price ratio for the time. I have successfully used this machine with no other pedal until June 2004, when I switched to the higher category with the acquisition of a G-Force rack. RP 14-D DigiTech, no longer being manufactured today is used and can interest any guitarist wishing to have a complete set of quality effects in a rugged compact.

UTILIZATION

TRs easy to use. The manual, in french, is perfect for small technical issues. Personally, I had to open it 2 times! ...

SOUND QUALITY

The effects on offer are trs effective for this range of hardware. It easily rivals the REFERENCE of such hardware. J'apprcie particulirement the DIFFERENT types of amplifications, really varied and rich. The lamp intgre in multi-effects really add grain and warmth to the sound. It is not like many of the camera, just to look pretty! ... Modulation (tremolo, octave, etc ...) are also good trs, and the compressor is overkill !!... And assignable expression pedals any paramtre offers opportunities and standards of shades crativit sound !!...

OVERALL OPINION

I use this pdalier for a little over two years for the home studio and scne. Obviously then, ca never rival with a built-in 2000, trs honntement, for what it cost (or dj the era I bought it and therefore still today), it is a good deal trs, an Investment to be no regrets. If I had to find a small default this unit, just to find one, it would simply be the lack of a system that Intgr twelve o'clock. A trifle, what ...

Purchased OCCAZ 700 euros there are about 8 years.
Compression, wah, pedal volume, amp type, equalization, gate, pitch, delay, reverb, speaker simulator brief (too) many effects, all in a very solid metal case. Switches (switches) plastic weakened over time. S / PDIF digital and headphone. Tube technology.

UTILIZATION

It's because that hurts the bottom navigation is "old school", he must love to walk on with only 11 columns of buttons left-right-up-down to fix everything. So it takes a long time before choosing his own sound and know the dinosaur (and yes I call it an old dinosaur now obsolete because it has outlived its usefulness). Very ergonomic.

SOUND QUALITY

I played 8 years with over a fender strato and a U.S. marshall JCM 2000. The effects are effective, but still very colorful. The parameters are very difficult to adjust when several active effect because the volumes of each effect often leads to clip the signal and the sound is very unpleasant digital distortion.

Another thing not true bypass, ineligible for a pedal this price range. I did not recognize my guitar when I turn off the pedal. A pedal

me several years simply because once purchased, I would not sell it to buy another in the same range (not the budget for better). You still have to add that it was "good" for the time.

Also with time, switch plastic they let him go one after the other and the volume pedal / wah gradually dysfunctions.

Now that the savings are waiting for you I chose to make a pedalboard and I am very happy with all my pedals (see my profile).
At the time I tried to crank boss, zoom, I thought it would raise the Digitech but actually I was pretty disappointed. I do not know if they improved their current cranks.

In short nothing better than analog pedals ... or a good pedal but with the price that goes with it. Obviously I do not recommend it as obsolete and not ergonomic.
