« Zoom 606 Guitar Multi FX Processor »
Published on 03/12/02 at 15:00I live in South Africa, out exchange rate is terrible, right now its $11 for R1 *waits 10 seconds* its notw $11.50 for R1
ok, I got this at a music store Musicfestsa (www.musicfestsa.co.za) for about R1650, roughly 165 Dollars.
I actually love this baby! most reviewers complained that they would never use this system at a gig, I beg to differ, I dont take my guitar anywhere without taking the 606! It,s light-wieght, durable, improves the sound of any amplifier (makes my Squier Champ 15 sound like a Marshall 30 watt)comes with around 36 pre-made effects and allows you to make/edit your own. has 12 different amp simulations, makes a tiny amp sound like a cabinet amp! PLUS its a pre-amp, meaning you can practise anywhere as long as you have some earphones without having to jack-in wires and plugs, plus its battery operated! it also comes with a nice expression pedal, it also has guitar simulation, I can make my Silvertone sound like a Fender.
only two things I dont like about it.
1. its got a steep learning curve, but the manual explains every little trick if you sit down and read it, also it has a complete listing of the FX on the back of the manual.
2. the switching of FX seems abrupt unless you switch at the exact time you need to.
I love the quality of this! its light-wieght plus I've dropped it a few times and not so much of a SCRATCH A SCRATCH I TELLS YAH!
you have to get this pedal, even if you dont play a guitar GET IT AND DO IT NOW.
