Fender is organizing a giveaway for the 50th anniversary of its Jazzmaster guitar.
The guitar is based on a 1958 prototype Jazzmaster with slightly different features than the production model that debuted later that year, according to Fender. These include an ash body, two-color finish and black pickup covers, unlike the other Jazzmaster models you can buy today.
A small limited run of such guitars were built for the Jazzmaster’s 50th anniversary party/concert, which took place at the Knitting Factory nightclub in New York on Sept. 12, 2008 and featured the guitar.
The guitar is signed by the event’s guests—Sonic Youth guitarists Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, Dinosaur Jr. leader J Mascis, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline and Television guitarists Tom Verlaine and Jimmy Ripp.
For more details on the giveaway and how to participate, check out Fender’s website.
