Focusrite will expand in 2015 its RedNet series with four new interfaces with still red and 1U rackable design.

The four new Focusrite RedNet MP8R, HD32R, D16R and D64R are evolutions of previous RedNet units. They have in commun redundant Ethernet ports and power sockets, EtherCon locking connectors and their 19” 1U rack format.

The RedNet MP8R is an 8-channel mic preamp with up to 192kHz A/D converter. It’s based on the RedNet 4 and offers a maximum input level of 28dBu, a phase switch, a –20dB pad, and switchable 10k Ohm and 2.4k Ohm impedances. Each preamp powers two channels on the network: on directly and the other with automatic DSP gain compensation for a fixed level.

The MP8R can be controlled locally or remotely via the RedNet Control, Pro Tools, MIDI and soon OCA (available in the next firmware update).

EU street price announced is 3025€.

The RedNet D16R features 16 channels of AES/EBU I/O from a Dante audio network. Engineers can use it to interconnect mixer, power amps or any AES3 and Dante-compatible devices. Sample rate conversion is achieved on each pair of inputs for instant operation with any AES3 source. Word Clock and DARS (Digital Audio Reference Signal) connections provide sync options for a wide variety of equipments, while two S/PDIF I/O allow for connecting CD or recording/playback devices. The D16R offers XLR and DB25 inputs and outputs and routing/control can be achieved remotely.

EU street price of the D16R is 2015€.

The RedNet D64R is an enhancement of the RedNet 6. This MADI/AES10 – Dante bridge can handle up to fully bidirectional 64 optical and coaxial MADI channels, which allows for using RedNet interfaces with any MADI / Dante setup. It features a 192kHz SRC on each input and output, which allows for independent operation of the sample rate on both systems. Wordclock I/O is also available for Dante or MADI flows.

The RedNet D64R is expected in June, 2015, for the street price of 2520€.

Last, the RedNet HD32R is based on the RedNet 5. It’s the second generation of 32-channel Pro Tools bridge and allows for integrating a Pro Tools | HD system into a Dante audio network. Up to 6 HD32R can be used with a Pro Tools | HDX system for up to 192 simultaneous I/O. The RedNet HD32R operates just like any classic Pro Tools interface and can be used with Pro Tools | HD, Native and HDX setups, as well as Avid and Digidesign complementary interfaces. The same network can connect 2 RedNet interface on Pro Tools and any other DAW.

Street price of the RedNet HD32R will be 1512€.
