It's very portable, self-powered via USB (we do not step to carry around 25,000 connections). Box a little cheap ... but hey plastok in the coup is very light.
I bought it to make models of compositions in Cubase.
Config: Athlon desktop PC or laptop P4 1.8 billion.
I branch out to:
- VAMP2
- Marshall JMP1 (used with simulations of HP)
- Yamaha Arranger Keyboard
- Table with mix amp.
Please note the price for the Midi interface.

UTILIZATION

No problem, plug in, turn on the CD and shoo.
If it is known to install a driver of course.

GETTING STARTED

The card is fairly new so no MAJ of drivers to follow ....
With no latency direct monitoring if not go through the sequencer, I do not know yet but the drivers ASIO2 should provide a minimum latency.

OVERALL OPINION

I bought it this weekend and my first attempts are successful registration:
Very good sound reproduction.
My use is perhaps ATIP (I record the tracks one by one) so I do not really push the card into its retrench but it looks really good for the price (250 €).

The USB allows you to share the card between my desktop PC (Athlon XP1800 + Gigabyte KT333 CM) and my laptop (Asustek Athlon 1400 + Chipset SIS 730). Both with Win XP.

The TOC is plastic but at least it's lightweight ...

UTILIZATION

No problem of implementation, except with the WDM drivers in Sonar 2.0 and 1. If I use the WDM drivers, I have a dcalage. I wait to test Sonar 2.2 and ASIO drivers.

GETTING STARTED

J'emmne the card and the laptop to play samples of instruments with a MIDI controller scne: and it works no worries. I use Virtualsampler 3 (I can not run the ASIO version 2.75)

I know me too problem of background noise. This is probably the power from the USB bus must be poorly insulated. Indeed, I hear (by pushing the gain for the bottom, it is true) dplacements the sound of my optical mouse on USB port! The most obvious is with my laptop: the extinction of the LCD screen lowers the background noise of at least 6 dB!

USB Sound Card format, 2 different drivers, one for windows in standard mode, one for Asio

standard, the sound quality 16/44.1 in advanced audio 24/44.1 is impossible to change this given in the config panel or otherwise, no 20-bit instance.

in advanced mode, no latency with Cubase and VST are played in real time, the headphone output for monitoring is perfect, but I go directly through a mini mixer for a good return.

for the config, better a good USB model and last at least 1ghz power if you have a VIA chipset.

to input this extremely simple, input jack 6.35 2, 2 RCA output, a headphone output for monitoring, no frills card is in the simplest and most convenient.
the input jack can be used as input line, guitar and microphone, handy if there is no mixer is handy, or you want your guitar recorded a holiday night on his laptop.

Case midi / audio autoaliment from the USB port, portable, ideal in the context of mobile use with a laptop.
Between line and microphone audio, RCA audio output, headphone jack, in short everything is there.
I use a Laptop p4 2 ghz, 256 RAM, Windos XP, Cubase SL and REASON.
For 229 euros there is no better.

UTILIZATION

Installation is very simple and well explained the ds paper manual. No pb of compatibility with REASON and CUBASE.

I had no particular pb with 1.0 drivers.
With REASON impossible to get around the CPU, latency ngligeable.
Cubase SL ngligeable latency but is faster CPU load level limit if you use vsti, surtt if there are greedy. eg, KONTAKT 2 and 4 vsti synth type and CPU dcroche.
To play the audio tracks ss 24 bp with several dozen vst effects.

OVERALL OPINION

I utitlise for 1 year and a half and I have not encountered any particular bp, including the background noise are talking about some testers.
We can win the ds of the laptop bag, a headphone and you can tweak on the train, make a mix in one night ...
I had one before in 24 wamirack PCI card with a desktop PC and I had that with bp. The sound quality of the AU 20 is at least as good and stability of the UA20 is irrprochable.
If we want to catch top-level acoustic or record multiple audio sources at the same time we must look elsewhere, but Obviously the price is not the same!
The quality-price ratio is really good. I would do bp ss this choice or perhaps U224 tascam for faders, but it is less portable.

Two years and I use this little box has changed my life (well my night!).
It must be said before with ISA or PCI cards, I always had bp of background noise and not talking about lag ...

Just a little tired with a composite of Reason with 19 tracks.
To record my guitars and my voice live, silent sound a little cold. A small prampli (tube pre Prosonus) archauff everything. With a SansAmp first generation live, I got taken guitar friendly.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it recently prs a year now. I needed a good sound card too small CHRE, and that it has fully achieved its rle. However, with means a little more important now I think I Rasht MODEL plutt the AU 25, also having XLR inputs, and better frquence of chantillonage.

I wanted a simple and cheap to try my hand at digital models to cleaner and more easily than 4 tracks anologiques. The appearance is not reassuring, especially the plastic used, also used by plants Kinder Surprise. The input knob is comparable to karaoke playskool of my nieces ... but well past the fear, you think it was worth the money.

The interface is currently connected to a Compaq Presario 920 EA WinXP Home via USB.
I go into the card via a mixer onyx 1220 by two jacks 6.35. I come away from the RCA outputs to a stereo input in the same mixer for monitoring.
I use the midi interface to connect a keyboard PCR 30.
Note that I have encountered problems of background noise unbearable until I put a reducer 3-2 at the laptop's power supply.

This device is a good product if you do not need more input ...
Using a mixer via seems essential for four reasons:
direct input via microphone in jack and guitar is freezing, you get a much more musical preamps using the mixer.
The mixer avoids incessant disconnects connections-that threaten the life of the connectors of the interface.
In addition, the interface has no phantom power supply (must not ask either).
But above the headphone output is not used in 3.5, the background noise is unbearable, you must board through the table to "monitor."

I have no point of comparison, but for my own use, the interface for me, it is complete. It is always useful configuration "nomadic", even if I switch to a fixed config with more entries.
