« A good compromise »
Published on 06/28/14 at 08:16Profusion / O balanced, 4 front line are compatible / mic / instrument (with fantom power supply 48V), inserts, digital inputs / outputs (optical, ADAT, S / MUX). No level adjustment on inputs 5-8. Compatible USB and Firewire. Not routing internally (direct input to an output assignment), and therefore not operating as independent as possible blender. Purchase for amateur use for recording keyboards / guitar / mic.
UTILIZATION
The machine is class-compliant: no drivers for OSX, one branch and it works. The latency is very correct, I can drop to around 4ms 48kHz Firewire.
GETTING STARTED
Like I said, the implementation OSX there is little simpler: one branch, that's all. Adjustments are made at the DAW. The manual is succinct but sufficient.
OVERALL OPINION
I have this interface for ten months, and use I am very pleased overall. Although in terms of audio quality or technical specifications, there is nothing to fall backwards when put its capabilities relative to its price, it is simply unbeatable. If we regret the absence of on / off button, no level control on inputs 5-8, setting levels headphones post global level, the one firewire port (not practical for chaining) or followed by the input level not really clear, offering an interface such connectivity (especially XLR combos supporting line level / mic / instrument with fantom power on the 4 front panel inputs, independent inserts for each input, ADAT and S Support / MUX and inputs / outputs balanced) at this price level, it is very simple, there is no other. I finally added it can be powered directly from the firewire port (not USB). Note: the first one I had broke down after 6 months (apparently problem with power circuit), but as usual the service Thomann proved worthy of its reputation!
