Easy and fun
Are a lot of criticism about the quality and reliability of this map ... justified but circumvented:
-The quality of preamps: the "bypass" with an A / D converter => coax or optical input.
PT-lost connection with the card, the card "blocking" was the lighting: Known issue with digi: free repair by them of the firewire power supply.
-Stability and greed of the program: be sure of the compatibility of the config, with sufficient RAM, use 2 HD: 1 = system = 2 sessions, avoid cracked plugs; update PT.
PT is a program that was heavy enough to run, configure the machine as a dedicated PT (watch out for patches of various programs background)
Once stable there ... and it affects more bump.
OVERALL OPINION
It's a good card, but for the price: four converters good, it would not luxury, but once repaired the computer and correctly configured, it provides access to the program as enjoyable, the most stable (ca is debatable of course) and more intuitive in terms of recording, editing, mix ...
The three big negatives: preamp M ° ° °; NO CLOCK WORDCLOCK and Internal (A / N) Yeah.
The world is unfair ...: A very good to work with RME Fireface Cucubase or logic (really?)
Or Digi002 Bof bof ... to puff on the well thought Protools.
I would do if this choice?
A budget and even without considering PT, RME Fireface 800 far better
