Value For Money :
Excellent
What characteristics have motivated your choice?
Price, Brand, Firewire Connectors, Chance.
For what purpose?
computer music quick well done (or not done too badly if you're a purist)
What is your config (Motherboard / CPU / Ram / Disk ,...)?
ACER Aspire 5920, Win XP SP3, 4GB RAM, Dual Core 2 GHz
With which instruments or systems (console, preamp, DTD ...) and you use the connection with what? ...
I live in the bass or guitar VST retirees or passage through a UL SS-20.
The card is well built, accessible entrances, solid and does not heat up tremendously. No criticism, I put 10
UTILIZATION
The drivers are stable?
Yes, definitely.
They are often updated?
No
What software do you use most often?
SE4 Cubase, Acid
What latency you get?
10 ms default setting is sufficient and I have no cracks.
How many tracks do you manage to record / playback simultaneously? ...
Record: 2
Read: 10 to 15 without problems with the dose of VST.RAS on this point. For cons, the panel is a bit ugly. It starts with rowing VST gourmet style IR reverbs ..
GETTING STARTED
The installation is done it without problems?
On Windows XP, yes.
Have you experienced any incompatibilities?
No.
The general configuration is easy?
Yes. Too bad that some functions are accessible via the rear facade, but it is not the most "used" on a daily basis ....
The manual is clear and sufficient? ...
Not seen a manual but the online documentation is available!
OVERALL OPINION
For how long have you been using it?
A little over 2 years
What thing do you like most/least about it?
Plus: ADJUSTMENTS price stability, connectivity
Did you try many other models before getting this one?
EMU 0202.
What is your opinion about the value for the price?
Excellent. I paid 200 € and the sound I am going (see my myspace http://www.myspace.com/tedgmgsux)
Knowing what you know now, would you make the same choice? ...
Yes, or I'll wait a little history of me taking a MOTU who seem to be really small onions
Well, in the end, I put 8 / 10. It's cheap, it's good stuff, easy to use, the fan will not be lost and the novice can navigate. Firewire is handy and level drivers is particularly stable with the following config.
A good second card! <img class="smiley" src="/images/audiofanzine/interface/smileys/icon_wink.gif" alt="" />
