I chose this card for the firewire connection, which looks more stable than USB 2.0, on the other connector (Mic, line, SPDIF, noon, pre amp), and its compatibility with the WDM (I work with SONAR).

I use it in home studio recording, mixing, and the live (or to intrt firewire port to connect a laptop ... I have not! )

Config: Pentium 4 1.8 GHz, 512 MB, Hard 2 (1 for ystme and one for audio)

Instruments: Akai S2000 (Midi), Loop in WAV, Mixman dm2, Zoom RFX2000 (SPDIF), instruments and voice (Line and Mic).

UTILIZATION

No problem for installation. I put the drivers of the day on the site M-Audio (before some problem of his dcalage)

Since the card comes with two Firewire Cables (6-pin and 4), no probme connection.

Ct manual to get it in French, I download on the M-audio site in PDF. Could make an effort ...

GETTING STARTED

I had no problem with stability of the update drivers for latency between 5 and 10 ms. I think with more or DXi plug-in, it will increase, but a turn (2 DxI, + reverb + delay).
The monitor works perfect.

The LEDs on the rack makes it easy to use (off-screen viewing of outputs used, the registration between clicks) is missing even when the connection to South.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for a week so I did not test everything but the air ca OK (still the SPDIF). I had a config problem on my PC to use the MIDI but the SAV M-Audio rpondu me by e-mail and now it is running.
Ct sound, no breath, its a little dull, but it also comes from my costs ... I would do the same choice without any problem.

Price: 480 Euros on the net .... no regrets
